  • Patent number: 9967684
Abstract: An alerting system for deaf or hard of hearing people comprises a wireless network with one or more transmitters adapted to detect events and, upon detecting an event, to transmit a wireless alerting signal to one or more receivers adapted to alert a user. The wireless network is adapted to send an alerting signal to an electronic device in order to allow the electronic device to function as a gateway between said wireless network and a hearing aid device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2014
Date of Patent: May 8, 2018
Assignee: BELLMAN & SYMFON EUROPE AB
    Inventors: Anders Ingemarsson, Peter Jungvid

  • Patent number: 7140641
Abstract: A safety-belt arrangement for use in a motor vehicle has a safety-belt (5), one end of which is connected to a retractor (8), a sensor (11) generates a signal representative of the amount of safety-belt paid-out from the retractor. A force limiter (10) is associated with the retractor to permit safety-belt to be paid-out with a variable force limiting effect. A control arrangement (12) changes the level of force applied by the force limiter (10) in dependence upon the length of safety-belt paid-out from the retractor.

  • Publication number: 20060255574
Abstract: A safety arrangement incorporates a seat-belt (3) to protect an occupant (2) of a vehicle seat (1). A control unit (11) incorporates a calculator (18) to calculate the weight of the occupant (2) of the seat occupant, by comparing the force (6) applied to the seat-belt by the seat occupant with the acceleration (14) of the compartment. A controller (19) controls a restraining force applied to the seat occupant by the safety-belt and, possibly, additional force limiting or energy absorbing devices such as an air-bag (8).

  • Patent number: 6719325
Abstract: A motor vehicle has a seat (1) and a dashboard (8) mounted airbag (9) which has a first mode of operation and a less aggressive second mode of operation. There is a seat-belt (6) having a retractor (7) which can enter the automatic locking mode (ALR) in which the reactor will wind in but not pay out. A weight sensing arrangement (4, 5) determines the weight on the seat. If the weight is less that a threshold (MI) and the ALR mode is activated an airbag control (17) makes the airbag inflate, in an accident, with the second less aggressive mode. If the weight exceeds the threshold, then the airbag inflates in the ordinary way. If a child seat is mounted on the seat the seat-belt will be in the ALR mode and the weight will be less than the selected threshold, so that the airbag will not injure an occupant of a child seat.
