  • Patent number: 10028183
Abstract: A method performed by a first network node of a wireless communication network for handling uplink signals sent by a UE. The wireless communication network comprises a serving network node responsible for transmitting downlink signals to the UE, and a non-serving network node capable of receiving uplink signals sent by the UE. The non-serving network node is the first network node and the serving network node is a second network node of the communication network, or vice versa. The method comprises receiving an uplink signal from the UE, measuring signal quality on the received uplink signal, and receiving signal quality information from the second network node regarding signal quality measured by the second network node on the uplink signal received by the second network node, to detect imbalances in experienced signal quality between the first network node and the second network node.

  • Patent number: 9467951
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method in a base station for transmitting an UpLink Transmit Power Control, UL TPC, command to a user equipment in a communications network. The base station obtains a measurement of a distortion of a signal received from the user equipment. The signal is associated with a power to be controlled. The base station determines that the signal is unreliable if the distortion measurement is above a threshold or determining that the signal is reliable if the distortion measurement is below the threshold. The base station transmits a first UL TPC command to the user equipment when the signal is determined to be unreliable or transmits a second TPC command to the user equipment when the signal is determined to be reliable.

  • Patent number: 9332502
Abstract: A method for uplink channel estimation comprises providing of a channel state model in a channel estimator. An uplink radio signal of a present time slot is obtained in the channel estimator as well as a series of transmit power control commands issued for controlling a transmit power of the uplink radio signal. A delay between the time a transmit power control command is issued and the time that the transmit power control command is applied is estimated based on measurements of the particular received uplink radio signal. Channel states are adapted based on a transmit power control command compatible with the estimated delay. After the adaptation, channel states of the present time slot are estimated in the channel estimator, by tracking the demodulated uplink radio signal with the channel state model. A channel estimator performing such method is also described.

  • Patent number: 9220071
Abstract: A method for power control stabilization in the uplink of a cellular CDMA communication system applying a fast inner loop power control comprises determining (210) of a radio frame based RoT value for a cell. A radio frame based SINR is determined (212) for individual UEs in the cell. The RoT value is compared (214) with a first threshold. Each frame based SINRs is compared (218) with a second threshold. The fast inner loop power control for a UE is broken (220) in dependence of the comparisons. The breaking comprises commanding (222) of a first number of consecutive power down commands to UEs having the frame based SINR above the second threshold for a RoT value above the first threshold and toggling (224) of power control commands for the subset of UEs during a second number of radio frames for a RoT value above the first threshold.
