Abstract: A system and a method for investigating and quantifying leakage rate of a fluid in an annulus are provided. An objective of the present invention is to provide an improved system and method for investigating and quantifying leakage rate of a fluid in an annulus. The present invention attains the above-described objective by the use of a throttle valve for setting a constant cross section opening while operating in choked flow and registering mass flow and change in pressure.
