  • Publication number: 20210186751
Abstract: A constriction device (100) adapted to be placed on the head of a patient for regulating the temperature of the brain. The constriction device comprises at least two protruding pressure elements (101a?, 101b?, 101c?) configured to create bilateral pressure on at least one from a list consisting of: the facial veins (10), the superficial temporal veins (20), the posterior auricular veins (30), and the occipital veins (40), such that the blood flow in the constricted veins is restricted.

  • Publication number: 20060052854
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and equipment for controlling the temperature of the brain or brain hemisphere. More specifically the present invention refers to a method and equipment for quick and efficient control of the temperature of the brain and for maintaining a low temperature in the brain. The inventive concept can be divided into three phases. Firstly, an emergency whole body temperature control phase providing a quick temperature control at for example a scene of accident. Secondly, a brain-selective temperature control phase providing a more efficient temperature control at for example an emergency room and thirdly, a maintained temperature control phase providing an even more efficient temperature control for a selected period of time.

  • Publication number: 20040210236
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catheter (100), comprisig a catheter stem (104) and a radially expandable structure (102), said expandable structure being configured to adopt in an expanded state a funnel like shape at a first proximal part that is attached to an end of said catheter stem (104) and an elongate substantially tubular shape at a second distal part. A selected portion of the expandable structure is coated with an unpermeable material to realise an occluding seal. The invention also relates to a catheter set, a perfusion system and a device for controlling the flow path in the inferior Venn cava.
