  • Patent number: 10345053
Abstract: A heat exchanger, such as a water cooled charge air cooler, is disclosed for cooling of charge air with the aid of coolant. In at least one embodiment, the heat exchanger includes charge air tubes and coolant turbulators made of corrugated sheet metal interposed between the air tubes. The turbulators define coolant channels and including at least one turbulating device provided therein. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, at least one channel includes at least one continuously shaped side wall which is non-apertured along its entire length and thus promotes coolant flow along the channel by inhibiting cross flow of coolant to a neighbouring channel.

Date of Patent: July 9, 2019
    Assignee: TITANX HOLDING AB

  • Patent number: 6226989
Abstract: A wave energy converter comprises an acceleration tube (14) attached to a buoyant body (11). An intermediate section of the acceleration tube defines a working cylinder (16), with openings in the acceleration tube above and below the working cylinder allowing unobstructed flow of water between the working cylinder and the body of water in which the acceleration tube is immersed. A working piston reciprocates in the working cylinder. A relief passage at each end of the working cylinder is controlled by the working piston to allow unrestricted flow pass the working piston when the piston moves past a predetermined position at the end of the working cylinder. An energy absorbing device (19, 20) is connected to the working piston. A restoring device (19C, 20C) is provided to apply a return force to the working piston towards the working cylinder, if and when the working piston moves past the predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 5331844
Abstract: A device for measuring the viscosity of the fluid flowing in a closed passage includes a rotor whose speed of rotation is directly dependent on the rate of flow of the fluid. The rotor is connected to an activatable and deactivatable brake means which has an adjustable braking force. Depending on the setting of the brake means, the brake is operative to cause a greater or smaller lag in the rotary speed of the rotor in relation to an unbraked rotor or a rotor braked with a smaller force. The measuring means is operative to determine the resultant different rotational speeds of the rotor and the different in these speeds is a measurement of viscosity.

  • Patent number: 5307686
Abstract: A device for measuring the rate of flow of a fluid flowing in a closed conduit includes a rotor whose speed of rotation is directly dependent on the flow rate of the fluid. The rotor is carried symmetrically on a shaft which extends substantially at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the conduit. The rotor includes measuring means in the form of bores provided therein, and a light-conductor is provided for determining the rotational speed of the rotor. The rotor preferably consists of a circular plate.

  • Patent number: 5303597
Abstract: A device for measuring the density of the fluid flowing in a closed passage includes a rotor whose speed of rotation is directly dependent on the rate of flow of the fluid. The measuring means is operative to determine the resultant different rotational speeds of the rotor and the different in these speeds is a measurement of density.

  • Patent number: 4026192
Abstract: A motor driven by a pressurized fluid medium for operating an impact tool in a linear direction adapted for metal stamping and high velocity milling comprising a housing and a piston unit. The latter comprises a drive piston, a piston rod and a tool. In addition, the motor includes a kinetic energy absorbing device comprising a hydraulic fluid chamber and a retard piston which is rigidly connected to said piston unit and arranged to reciprocate in said fluid chamber. The retard piston retards the piston unit at the end of the strokes only and is freely passed by hydraulic fluid during the working stroke. Cup-shaped means are provided to restrict said by-pass flow of hydraulic fluid at the end of the strokes and thereby protect the motor from excessive stresses during no-load conditions.

  • Patent number: 3960407
Abstract: The invention relates to methods of cutting spallable material such as rock using high pressure water jets. Two jets which preferably diverge cut slits in the material face. These slits are close together so that the material between them spalls out. The invention also provides apparatus for providing such jets.
