  • Patent number: 8993302
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mutant Francisella tularensis strain comprising an inactivated clpB gene and compositions comprising such mutant. Methods of producing the mutant are also described. The present invention also encompasses a method of conferring immunity against F. tularensis in a host, comprising administering the described mutant F. tularensis strain.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 2010
Date of Patent: March 31, 2015
Assignee: National Research Council of Canada
Inventors: Joseph Wayne Conlan, Anders Sjostedt
  • Publication number: 20150059207
Abstract: A device for slip-damping effect, comprising a sole unit and a spike with a resilient, circumferential fastening which allows the spike to be tilted in case of shearing motion against the ground surface, wherein the device provides grip on hard ground surfaces as a result of the sole unit, and at the same time the risk of slipping on hard, slippery ground surfaces is reduced by the spike.

  • Patent number: 7910351
Abstract: A mutant strain of Francisella tularensis has attenuated virulence and has a mutation in the gene coding for a putative peroxynitrite resistance protein A (prpA) which prevents normal function of the protein. The mutant is useful as a vaccine against type A and B virulent strains of F. tularensis, and is produced by obtaining a virulent F. tularensis strain and mutating the gene, FTT0918, that codes for prpA.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 19, 2006
Date of Patent: March 22, 2011
