Trimethylamine oxide (TMAO) or deriviatives of same are formed to be powerful iron inhibitors when added to a conventional feed composition.When used alone or in diluted dry or liquid form the amount needed to obtain an optional synergetic effect between iron and omega-3 fatty acids in the feed can be calculated according to a defined equation.
