  • Patent number: 8316614
Abstract: Method for establishing a wind turbine (1) on a foundation (7) where at least a part of the wind turbine rotor (4) is attached to a wind turbine tower (2). Further, the method comprises the steps of positioning the wind turbine tower including the attached wind turbine rotor on the foundation, elevating a wind turbine nacelle (3) to a use position on the tower, and directly or indirectly connecting the nacelle to the attached wind turbine rotor. The invention also relates to transport of a wind turbine tower, and a vessel (10) suitable for transporting a wind turbine tower.

  • Publication number: 20110123274
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for erecting a wind turbine on an offshore site, said method comprises the steps of positioning a first boom of a crane in a substantially horizontal position, arranging a substantially horizontal positioned elongated wind turbine component on said first boom, connecting a distal part of said elongated wind turbine component to a second boom of said crane, said distal part is the upper part of the wind turbine component when the wind turbine is erected, and said second boom is extending at an angle from the longitudinal extension of said first boom, elevating said first boom to a substantially vertical position, modifying the position in the horizontal plane of said elongated wind turbine component, in order to reach a desired erecting position for the component, and disconnecting said distal part of said elongated wind turbine component from said second boom of said crane. The invention also relates to a vessel for erecting a wind turbine on an offshore site.

  • Publication number: 20100281820
Abstract: Method for establishing a wind turbine (1) on a foundation (7) where at least a part of the wind turbine rotor (4) means is attached to a wind turbine tower (2) by attachment means. Further the method comprises the steps of positioning said wind turbine tower including said at least a part of the wind turbine rotor means on the foundation, elevating a wind turbine nacelle (3) to a use position on said tower, and directly or indirectly connecting said nacelle to said at least a part of the wind turbine rotor means. The invention also relates to transport of a wind turbine tower, and a vessel (10) suitable for transporting a wind turbine tower.

  • Publication number: 20090255454
Abstract: A mooring system for stabilizing a vessel for handling offshore structures includes at least one mooring unit, a connection mechanism for connecting the mooring unit to the vessel, and a tractive mechanism for stabilizing the vessel by establishing permanent tension in the connection mechanism. Furthermore, the tractive mechanism includes a mechanism for lowering the connected vessel's position in relation to the water level. A method of stabilizing a vessel, a vessel for handling offshore structures and use of a mooring system are also contemplated.
