Publication number: 20250367986Abstract: Tire control with communication between a vehicle control system and an actuator system configured to dynamically change tire properties. The communication includes a tire control signal from the vehicle control system to the actuator system, wherein the tire control signal is indicative of one or more requested tire objective(s), and wherein each of the tire objective(s) indicates a tire property which is controllable by the actuator system. The communication may also include a tire report signal from the actuator system to the vehicle control system, wherein the tire report signal is indicative of a current status of dynamically variable tire objective(s) capabilities, and the requested tire objective(s) may be determined based on the current status of dynamically variable tire objective(s) capabilities. Alternatively or additionally, the requested tire objective(s) may be determined based on a tire objectives model, which is indicative of dependency between two or more tire objectives.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2025Publication date: December 4, 2025Inventors: Sidhant RAY, Leo LAINE, Anders TRYGG, Leon HENDERSON

Publication number: 20090314590Abstract: A system for automatically actuating the parking brake on a vehicle, such as a truck, includes a parking brake and at least a driver's door lock. The system includes an arrangement for applying said parking brake to an active position as a response to at least said driver's door lock being locked in an active position. The system can include a lock response arrangement which is operable for at least providing a first signal indicating that at least the driver's door lock is locked in an active position; and a hold arrangement for actuating the parking brake to an active position based on the first signal. Thus, it is no longer necessary for a driver to remember to actuate the parking brake, when he or she parks the vehicle, as long as at least the driver's door lock on the vehicle is locked. The manual locking action of the driver's door lock may be further utilized for automatic actuation of the parking brake, i.e. the same manual action may induce two separate functions at the same time.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2007Publication date: December 24, 2009Applicant: Volvo Lastvagnar ABInventors: Ingemar Dagh, Anders Trygg

Publication number: 20090289426Abstract: An air storage system is provided for an air suspension system in a large vehicle and includes at least one tire, preferably at least one set of tires provided on an axle of the vehicle. The system includes an air control arrangement adapted for selectively controlling the input and output of air from the at least one tire to the air suspension system based on data signal at least representing air pressure in the at least one tire at least when the tire is idle, i.e. not engaged in driving.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2007Publication date: November 26, 2009Applicant: Volvo Lastvagnar ABInventors: Christian Oscarsson, Anders Trygg

Patent number: 7600824Abstract: The invention relates to a method for mounting rim accessories on a vehicle, the vehicle having rims with fasteners for fastening the rim to a wheel hub, the method including mounting of a bracket including at least two sections, the bracket having a first contact surface along its outer periphery for resting against an interesting contact surface on the inner periphery of the rim, the radially inner contact surface lying substantially parallel to and adjoining an axially outer edge of the rim. The method includes mounting the bracket such that adjoining end surfaces of the sections of the brackets are forced apart, thereby clamping the bracket fast to the rim, and mounting of an accessory on the bracket, the bracket having at least a second contact surface extending radially inwards along the inner periphery of the rim. The second contact surface is provided with at least two openings in each of the sections of the bracket for interaction with at least a corresponding number of fasteners on the accessory.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2006Date of Patent: October 13, 2009Assignee: Volvo Lastvagnar ABInventors: Ingemar Dagh, Anders Trygg

Patent number: 7416259Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for mounting a wheel cap on a vehicle, the vehicle having rims with exposed fasteners for fastening to a wheel hub. The method includes mounting of a holder by fasteners of the rim, the holder having a first contact surface for resting against the rim and a second contact surface lying substantially parallel to and at a distance from the first contact surface, and where the mounting of the holder is done by at least two fasteners of the rims interacting with openings in the first contact surface of the holder. The method includes mounting of the wheel cap on the holder by a plurality of fasteners on the inner side of the wheel cap interacting with openings for the fasteners of the rim in the second contact surface of the holder.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2006Date of Patent: August 26, 2008Assignee: Volvo Lastvagner ABInventors: Ingemar Dagh, Anders Trygg
