Abstract: A method of allocating resources for transmitting content from a network element in a communications network to one or more mobile devices each in communication with the network element may include receiving, at the network element, characteristic information corresponding to each of the one or more mobile devices; and generating one or more adaptive guaranteed bit rate (AGBR) values at the network element corresponding to each of the one or more mobile devices, respectively. The AGBR values may be GBR values generated for each of the one or more mobile devices based on the corresponding characteristic information. A first scheduling algorithm may be executed at the network element based on the one or more AGBR values; and resources may be allocated to the one or more mobile devices based on an output of the scheduling algorithm.

Upon receipt of a message from a calling party, a service broker function may be configured to execute service package information associated with services of the TV delivery system subscription to include obtaining and delivering caller ID information of the calling party. The service broker function may be configured to alter the message request to generate a modified message request in respect to information affecting alerting of the subscriber's phone. The modified message is sent to the subscriber's phone so that, while information of the calling party is displayed on the TV delivery system, alerting of the phone is modified.

In one embodiment, the present invention provides service-level interaction between an enterprise network and a non-enterprise network (or networks), thereby enabling enterprise users at remote locations (i.e., at home, on vacation, or at other locations remote from the enterprise location) to use services typically only available to the enterprise users while at the enterprise location (e.g., while in the office). The present invention provides a calendar notification service, whereby a calendar notification originating in an enterprise network is provided to a remote enterprise user via a non-enterprise network. The present invention provides an enterprise dialing plan service, whereby a remote enterprise user may register a remote user device to be able to use an enterprise dialing plan.

Abstract: When an intelligent VoIP endpoint terminal on a VoIP network becomes inoperative for any reason and can't respond to a service request that it had been programmed for, rather than leaving that service request unfulfilled, a VoIP network-hosted instance of that primarily endpoint terminal-provided service is invoked to handle that request and provide the service that would have otherwise been provided by the endpoint terminal. The network-hosted instance thus executes the requested service on behalf of the unavailable endpoint terminal.

If a determination is made that a conflict could arise between the endpoint-hosted service and the network-hosted service, then either the intelligent endpoint is instructed not to invoke the endpoint-hosted service during a call/session or to only invoke it with certain restrictions that would avoid the conflict, or alternatively, the network service is not invoked or is only invoked with certain restrictions that would avoid the conflict.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided such that when a wireless communication system detects that a connection to one of its subscribers has dropped, an application server within the network is dynamically called to intervene in the call and one or more options are presented to the remaining end-user of a mobile or landline terminal. The options presented to the end-user can be dependent upon whether the cause of the dropped call is one that is associated with likely having a short-term duration or is one that is associated with likely having a longer-term duration. If the cause is short term, the end-user can be given the option of being automatically reconnected to the dropped mobile terminal when it is determined to be available again.

Abstract: A click-to-contact service automatically and uniformly converts all types of contact information embedded in any Web page into click-to-contact links. This user-oriented service is realized with a click-to-contact agent, which takes any Web page as an input and adds click-to-contact links to the contact information located within that Web page. This agent can be invoked from the Web browser running on an end-user's client system or from within the network. This click-to-contact agent performs the tasks of searching an incoming Web page for contact information by applying a grammar for such contacts. When contact information is found, the Web page is modified to include a link in association with that contact information within the Web page. When the end-user subsequently clicks on or otherwise selects such a click-to-contact link, one or two-way telephonic or electronic communication is established between the end-user and an address associated with the contact information within the Web page.

Abstract: An Internet Service Provider (ISP) intercepts HTTP requests from an end-user's browser, which are addressed to a Web server with which the ISP has an arrangement. If the request does not already include one, the request is modified to include a temporary user ID token that is identifiable with the end-user only by the ISP and not by the Web server. In response to receiving a request from the end-user that includes a token, the Web server generates a responsive message to the ISP that includes that same temporary user ID token, and which requests the ISP to perform a user-specific action. In response to that message, the ISP identifies the user from the token, performs the requested user-specific action and provides the Web server with information relating to the result of the requested action. The Web server then generates a response to the end-user's original request utilizing the provided information.

Abstract: Additional context-specific information is made available to a user at a client machine as the user at a client makes a request and retrieves information from a content provider on the Web. Such additional information is either generated or separately retrieved based on an analysis of the content of the response from a content provider to a request from the client and, optionally, the original request from the client. If this analysis indicates that additional context-specific information is needed, the original response from the content provider is provided to the client with an indication that such additional context-specific information is available.

Abstract: A method for wet cleaning of the nozzle rings of exhaust-gas turbocharger turbines is based on thermal shock of the contaminants, and includes the steps of injecting water in repeated, relatively small amounts, into the exhaust duct immediately upstream of the nozzle ring. A delay between injections allows the nozzle ring to reheat to operating temperature so that each water injection causes a thermal shock. An apparatus to perform the method includes water injection nozzles installed in the exhaust gas casing and a control system. The method and apparatus provide improved cleaning using less water than in known methods.

Then the metallic rods put end to end are welded together, and the cavities are filled in with concrete or with another appropriate material.

Abstract: A composite bearing column comprises a solid metallic core of circular or polygonal section free from reentrant recesses. The core is embedded in an intermediate layer of mortar which is compatible both with metal and with concrete. An external concrete mass surrounds the intermediate layer. Metallic bars are longitudinally distributed around the central core in that concrete mass and extend lengthwise of the column parallel to the core. The bars are welded at their opposite ends to a base plate and to a head plate. In one embodiment, mounting rings are secured to the base and head plates and extend toward each other; and a metallic wire helically surrounds the bars.
