  • Patent number: 12281890
Abstract: In a method for measuring the wing edge of a vehicle on a test bed, the test bed has a coordinate system in which the Z-axis is the vertical axis, the X-axis is an axis on the test bed extending in the horizontal plane in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle located on the test bed for testing, and the Y-axis is an axis of the test bed extending perpendicular to the X-axis in the horizontal plane. In determining the position and orientation of the wing edge, a light pattern projected onto a vehicle by an illumination unit is moved and recorded by two imaging units. A subset for evaluation is formed from the 3D point clouds determined stereophotogrammetrically from the recordings.

  • Publication number: 20190301859
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining parameters of the chassis geometry of wheels of a non steered axle, amuse of the method, a test bench for a vehicle, and a measuring unit. The method relates to determining the parameters of the chassis geometry of the Wheels of the rear axle of a vehicle from measurements of the toe angle in two measuring positions of the vehicle in the test bench, which positions are mutually offset in the x-direction. Wheel runout compensation is achieved thereby. The geometric driving axle thus determined can be used for setting driver assistance systems and for setting the parameters of the chassis geometry of the steered wheels of the front axle. A measuring unit can be designed such that a plurality of parallel lines for generating a planar pattern are generated by means of a parallel displacement of a sensor in the x-direction, which sensor emits linear light having one line.

  • Patent number: 8418543
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and method for determining and adjusting the chassis geometry of a vehicle. In order to provide a device for determining and adjusting vehicle chassis geometry, which can be manufactured as inexpensively as possible, the invention proposes that two tracks be provided on which the vehicle can be moved from a position A to a position B, each track having two means to permit lateral relaxation of the vehicle wheels as well as rotary discs located in the area of the vehicle's front axle at position B, that a measuring sensor operating according to the principle of stereophotogrammetry is located on the outside of each of the tracks, and that means for measuring the travel of the measuring sensors and a steering-wheel balance for detecting the position of the steering wheel are provided.
