  • Patent number: 6581646
Abstract: A three-position shed-forming device with a shed-forming element (10);(60,70) in connection with a warp yarn, two lifting devices (1),(2);(41),(42);(51),(52) with a different lifting height (h), (2h) which are movable up and down in phase, and a selection device (20,21); (83,84) (93,94) in order to have the shed-forming element carried along either by the first lifting devices (1);(41);(51) or by the second lifting devices (2);(42);(52) or by none of the lifting devices. A similar device is able to bring, during successive weft insert cycles, a warp yarn alternately into the lower position and in any of the upper, center and lower positions, and has no pulley block elements.

  • Patent number: 6463962
Abstract: A device for guiding the knife-supporting beams in a jacquard machine is provided. The device is for rectilinear guiding of a body (1) of a shed-forming device that can be driven in a back and forth movement. The device has a rod mechanism (2, 3, 4) of which a first (2) and a second rod (3) are rotatably connected to respectively the aforesaid body (1) and a fixed part (11). This rod mechanism is provided to exert a rectilinear movement on the joint (5) between the body (1) and the first rod (2) while driving the body (1). The joint (5) between the first rod (2) and the body (1) moves for that purpose preferably in a straight line through the joint (7) between the second rod (3) and the fixed part (11). This device is especially utilized as a shed-forming device of a machine of the Jacquard type for the rectilinear guiding of knife-supporting beams. Such a rectilinear guide has the advantage that it can be implemented with only hinge points that require no maintenance.

  • Patent number: 6382263
Abstract: A hook selection device for a shed-forming device for a weaving machine, in particular for a jacquard machine, has a number of hooks (3), (4) that can be moved up and down by a lifting means (1), (2). For each hook, there is a selection element with which the hook can be selected for being held by a holding element (5), (6) at a selection height. A resetting device (7) exerts a downward directed resetting force on the hook (3), (4), only during the movement on a path of the hook. The resetting device (7) is provided to transmit the resetting force to a contact part (8) of the hook that is lower than the top hook extremity, while each resetting device comprises a pressure device (10), which can be moved upward by a hook (3), (4) against a downward directed spring pressure.

  • Patent number: 6293314
Abstract: A selection system for pile yarns in a gripper Axminster weaving machine has a gripper associated with an elongated pile yarn carrier, and provided to position a number of yarn ends at mutual distance in the length direction of that carrier. Each pile yarn carrier is axially movable in its length direction to present a selected yarn to an associated gripper. A movable selection beam effects the axial movement of the pile yarn carriers, coordinated with the movement of the grippers, by protrusions and notches working together on the pile yarn carriers and on the selection beam. The engagement into each other of the aforesaid protrusions and notches can be selectively controlled in function of the yarns to be selected, in which the pile yarn carriers are predominantly horizontally disposed. The selection beam positively drives the pile yarn carriers in horizontal direction both in forward and in return movement.
