  • Patent number: 4756984
Abstract: A small quantity of bromine (0.1 to 1 m/liter of electrolyte) is added to the electrolyte of an activatable Li/SO.sub.2 Cl.sub.2 battery. This small amount of bromine acts as a catalyst, not as a depolarizer. Considerable improvement is thus obtained in the electrical performance of the battery.

  • Patent number: 4703394
Abstract: A system for interconnecting orthogonally disposed printed circuit boards in first and second stacks comprises first contact members on facing edges of the boards of the two stacks used to interconnect the boards. A mother board is disposed perpendicular to and between the two stacks of boards. Second contact members are disposed on the same facing edges of the boards as the first contact members. They define with the first contact members a series of first multiway plug-in connectors along the respective edge of each board in the first stack and a series of second multiway plug-in connectors along the respective edge of each board in the second stack. The mother board comprises a distribution network in the form of an array of conductive tracks assigned to distributing signals to the boards. The mother board also carries connecting contact members and distribution contact members connected to the distribution network.

  • Patent number: 4678259
Abstract: A metal junction box effects connection of a cable (13) having a grounding shield (15) surrounding insulated electrical conductors (17) which extending out from the end of the said shield, and connected to a multi-pin connector plug (10). The box is equipped with a sleeve (4) over which the grounding shield (15) is fitted and held in place around the sleeve by a ferrule (19). The box is formed by a bracket (1) consisting of a central arm (2) and two, right angle side arms (3). Two lateral covers (11), have flanges (12) orthagonal to the planes of the covers (11). The sleeve (4) is coaxial of the bracket. The bracket (1) includes on its two side arms (3) two double mounting lugs (6) against which the two covers (11) are screwed from opposite sides. The ends of the two side arms terminate in tabs (7) directed toward each other. A metal plate (9) of the connector plug ( 10) is pressed at its ends against the tabs (7).

  • Patent number: 4469385
Abstract: A terminal for electrically connecting electrical conductors (6) to rigid electrical terminal pins (7) comprises a plurality of U-shaped individual contacts (2). One arm (20) of each contact (2) is connected to one of the conductors (6). The other arm (23) is flat and is adapted to connect to one of the pins (7). The terminal further comprises identical contact supports (1, 1') having an internal groove (10) with a rounded bottom. It has internal compartments (12) along the lateral walls of this groove (10) and external compartments along the lateral walls of each contact support (1, 1'). The internal compartments (12) accommodate the flat contact arms (23) and the respective pins (7). The external compartments accommodate the contact arms (20) adapted to contact the conductors (6). An insulating member (3) maintains the contact supports (1, 1') in alignment.

  • Patent number: 4243562
Abstract: Process for the polymerization of vinyl chloride in aqueous suspension in the presence of a dispersing system comprising a cellulosic derivative and an anionic emulsifying agent wherein the polymerizaton is initiated by an oil-soluble initiator and a water-soluble free radical polymerization initiator is added in the course of polymerization. The thus obtained polyvinyl chloride powders are particularly suitable for the production of battery separators.

  • Patent number: 4217023
Abstract: The invention is characterized by connectors 17, 18, connected by a plug-ended cord 15, it being possible to prewire and wrap the assembly in the factory, to connect a distribution frame 11 to a connector 18.The contacts in the connectors are disposed on juxtaposed terminal strips each of which includes two rows of contacts, this allowing semiautomatic connections.
