  • Patent number: 9796470
Abstract: A method of assisting a pilot in order to minimize the risks of an aircraft rolling over on the ground, the aircraft having a main rotor and a yaw movement control rotor (4), together with lateral cyclic pitch control means for the main rotor and yaw movement control means for the yaw movement control rotor. At least one measurement is taken relating to left forces exerted on a left side undercarriage and to right forces exerted on a right side undercarriage in order to evaluate asymmetry, if any, between the left and right forces, and then a recommended position (26) is determined for at least one of the yaw and lateral cyclic pitch control means in order to make the left and right forces more symmetrical. Each recommended position is displayed on a display unit.

  • Patent number: 9156541
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of driving a main rotor (2) of a rotorcraft (1) in rotation. A regulation setpoint (C) for a power plant (3) used for driving the main rotor (2) at a variable speed of rotation is generated by a control unit (4) and is transmitted to a regulator unit (5) for regulating the operation of the power plant (3). The value of an initial setpoint (NRini) is generated progressively and continuously depending on variation in the current value of the density (D) of the ambient air outside the rotorcraft (1). The value of the initial setpoint (NRini) is potentially corrected depending on predefined flight conditions of the rotorcraft (1). Prior to being transmitted to the regulator unit (5), the value of the regulation setpoint (C) is preferably limited to a range of acceptable speeds for driving the main rotor (2) in rotation.

  • Patent number: 6290171
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (1A) for controlling a hybrid countertorque system of a helicopter (He), which comprises a countertorque rotor (R2), and at least one aerodynamic steering surface (D). According to the invention, said device comprises means (1A) for controlling, as a matter of priority, the aerodynamic surface (D) so that it generates lift which represents at least part of a first control command, which can be executed by said surface (D), and to control the countertorque rotor (R2) in such a way that the combined action of the surface (D) and of the rotor (R2) represents a command for controlling the helicopter (He) in terms of yaw.

  • Patent number: 6142413
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for control of an aerodynamic steering surface (D) of a helicopter (He), which includes an anti-torque system intended to counteract the torque induced by a main forward-movement and lifting rotor (R1) and comprising an anti-torque rotor (R2) exerting an anti-torque lateral thrust and said aerodynamic steering surface (D), controllable and generating an anti-torque transverse lift.According to the invention, said device includes controls means (1A) for controlling said aerodynamic surface (D) in terms of speed, as a function of the difference between a helicopter (He) yaw control demand and a datum demand for the auxiliary rotor (R2), as long as said difference is not zero.

  • Patent number: 6123291
Abstract: A device for controlling an aerodynamic surface (E) for balancing in terms of pitch a helicopter (He) including a main rotor (R1), the fore-and-aft cyclic pitch of which is controllable by a pitch-control channel (3A) as a function of a pitch control command. According to the invention, the device includes a unit (1A) associated with the control channel (3A) for controlling the aerodynamic surface (E) in such a way that it generates lift that represents part of a command dependent on the pitch-control command, which part can be executed by the aerodynamic surface (E), and the combined pitching action of the aerodynamic surface (E) and of the main rotor (R1) represents the pitch-control command.
