  • Publication number: 20230208143
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for smoothing photovoltaic power generation. Photovoltaic power plants have the inherent problem of generation intermittency caused by the variation in weather conditions over a period of seconds, minutes, and hours. This intermittency results in a variability of active power injection into the electrical grid by the photovoltaic power plant.

  • Patent number: 10962577
Abstract: Equipment for measurement of the contribution to frequency stability by a generating unit, especially for generating units based on power electronics. This equipment is to be installed between a generating unit and an electric power system. It emulates an electric power system undergoing a power unbalance, which manifests itself through a grid frequency swing.

  • Publication number: 20200280273
Abstract: A voltage source converter control concept which will be referred to as Static Synchronous Machine (SSM). The SSM provides an interface between AC and DC networks, extending to the DC link voltage the information implicitly transmitted through the system frequency. A generating unit connected to the DC link may implement the same, system-wide droop characteristic where 5% grid frequency (or DC link voltage) deviation from the rated value causes a 100% active power deviation. The efficacy of the method is verified by means of simulation and experimental results.
