  • Publication number: 20180288955
Abstract: Methods for introgressing an allele of interest of a locus associated with a yield trait into Zea mays germplasm are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include providing a Zea mays plant that contains an allele of interest of a locus associated with a yield trait, wherein the locus associated with the yield trait is identifiable by PCR amplification of a Zea mays nucleic acid with a pair of oligonucleotides primers as disclosed herein, and introgressing the allele of interest into Zea mays germplasm that lacks the allele. Also provided are methods for identifying Zea mays plants that contain at least one allele associated with improved yield, improved maize plants, elite Zea mays plants, biomass produced from improved Zea mays plants, isolated and purified genetic markers, and compositions that include an amplification primer pair capable of amplifying a Zea mays nucleic acid to generate a Zea mays marker amplicon.

  • Publication number: 20160234118
Abstract: A method, system and device for managing congestion/overload conditions at application level, experienced in a network service provided through a telecommunications network, allowing to provide fast, valid and complete service responses to the service client even when the service servers are overloaded. The congestion management is provided by an intermediary node communicated with the client device and with the server or servers providing the network service. In order to control server(s) overload, this node uses a double congestion mechanism, an early congestion detection mechanism and a response time limit mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20160104000
Abstract: Methods and systems allow secure acquisition and transmission of images by a mobile communication device. The method includes acquiring an image by the mobile device and allocating volatile memory space in the mobile device for a defined session. The image may be acquired by a digital camera built in the mobile device. The method includes digitally storing the acquired image in the allocated volatile memory space. The method includes encrypting and transmitting the stored image using a secure transmission protocol during the session. The method includes de-allocating the volatile memory space at the termination of the session. The de-allocation of the volatile memory space may cause the digitally stored image to be erased from the volatile memory space. Thus, the stored image is not persistently retained by the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20160103782
Abstract: Methods and systems provide secure data transmission from a mobile device to a central computer system over a communication network. The method includes executing a first computer program in the mobile device and allocating by the first computer program a volatile memory space in the mobile device for a defined session. The method includes storing data in the allocated volatile memory space. The method includes transmitting the stored data to the central computer using a secure transmission protocol over the communication network. The method includes de-allocating by the first computer program the volatile memory space at the termination of the session. The de-allocation erases the transmitted data from the volatile memory space.

  • Publication number: 20160103964
Abstract: Methods and systems for acquiring a machine-readable optical code, decoding the optical code into a patient identifier, and receiving from a database a billing record filled with patient data corresponding to the patient identifier. The method includes reading by a mobile device the machine-readable optical code and decoding the optical code into a patient identifier. The method includes transmitting the patient identifier to a database. The method includes receiving from the database at least partially filled billing record with patient data corresponding to the patient identifier and displaying on the mobile device the at least partially filled billing record. The method includes searching the database using the patient identifier, and retrieving the patient data corresponding to the patient identifier. The method includes at least partially filling a billing record with the patient data, and transmitting the at least partially filled billing record to the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20160073642
Abstract: The present invention refers to a process for increasing the production of biomass and metabolites of microorganisms of Bacillus sp. species. Obtained metabolites are lipopeptide compounds of the fengycin, surfactin, and iturin families, which exhibit antimicrobial activity. The invention further includes biocidal compositions comprising Bacillus subtilis EA-CB 0015, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens EA-CB0959, and/or metabolites thereof, either alone or together with other biocidal agents, and the use of these compositions for the treatment of diseases caused by various phytopathogenic agents, including Mycosphaerella fijiensis, in a variety of crops.
