The virtual workspace corresponds to an application or a service common to the devices. Example applications and services include media editing, media playback, image processing, social networking, and social control functionality.

In particular, example methods may provide for operating a device in a multi-device environment, directing the presentation, on a display of the device, of a first image, detecting a motion of the device, directing a change of the image presented on the display of the device from the first image to a second image in response to detecting the motion of the device. The first image presented on the device is related to images displayed on other devices in the multi-device environment. The second image may be a scaled version of the first image and the second image may be scaled based on at least one property of the motion. Each device in the multi-device environment may be directed to display a portion of a complete image, where the first image is a portion of the complete image.
