  • Patent number: 10365921
Abstract: A method introduces applications into a head unit of a vehicle. The method transfers a first identifier by a software component of the head unit via a first communication channel to a server; receives a main application in response to the transferring; transfers a vehicle identification number of the vehicle by the main application via a second communication channel to the server; receives metadata associated with the vehicle identification number, wherein the metadata include one or more identifiers; transfers at least one identifier of the received metadata from the main application to the software component; transfers the identifier by an invariable software component via the first communication channel to the server; receives an application associated with the identifier by the software component; saves the application; and forwards a storage location of the application from the software component to the main application.

  • Publication number: 20190195149
Abstract: A method for starting a gaseous fuel internal combustion engine is disclosed. According to the disclosed method, the engine is rotated using a start device until a first speed threshold is reached. After reaching the first speed threshold, pilot fuel is supplied to a plurality of cylinders of the engine to combust the same. After performing an ignition health check, gaseous fuel is supplied to all or a relatively large number of cylinders to start accelerating the engine up to a second speed threshold.

  • Patent number: 10215125
Abstract: A process of controlling operation in a multi-cylinder engine either during start of operation or low-load conditions is disclosed. The process may include skipping a supply of fuel in a first set of cylinders of the multi-cylinder engine for a pre-defined number of multiple working cycles. The process may further include supplying fuel-air mixture to a second set of cylinders of the multi-cylinder engine for the pre-defined number of multiple working cycles. The process may also include executing combustion of the fuel-air mixture supplied to the second set of cylinders for the pre-defined number of multiple working cycles. In addition the process may include either changing a selection of cylinders included in the first set of cylinders and the second set of cylinders respectively, or switching the supply of fuel, after the pre-defined number of multiple working cycles, from the second set of cylinders to the first set of cylinders.

  • Publication number: 20150241306
Abstract: A method of detecting an incomplete combustion, such as a misfire, in an internal combustion engine operating at least partly on a gaseous fuel, includes: receiving pressure data corresponding to a temporal development of a cylinder pressure during a combustion event within a combustion cycle; deriving from the pressure data a combustion energy value of the combustion; determining that the derived combustion energy value is beyond a predetermined combustion-cycle specific combustion threshold level; and associating the combustion event with an incomplete combustion in the combustion cycle.

  • Patent number: 9061444
Abstract: In order to reduce the wall thickness of housing parts produced by means of plastic injection molding and equipped with decorative layers, such as battery covers of mobile devices, it is recommended to change to a starting material that is a fiber composite material equipped on one side with the decorative layer, from which starting material the housing part is formed in a deep drawing process. Even if a thick decorative layer the outer surface of which is highly embossed for haptic reasons is applied, the resulting wall thickness remains far below the wall thickness for a housing part that can be produced by means of injection molding. An even further reduction of the wall thickness is achieved if a fiber composite material is used as the deep drawing starting material for the shaped part, the decorative material being directly foamed or injected onto the surface of the fiber composite material.

  • Publication number: 20090314013
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for filling a fluid (2) into the cooling circuit (1) of air-conditioning systems, in particular into those of motor vehicle air-conditioning systems, in which method the fluid (2) which is to be filled in is stored at approximately atmospheric pressure in a container (3), in which method a filling line (11) is connected to the cooling circuit (1), which filling line (11) can be connected by means of an initially closed valve (10) to a riser line (7) which dips into the fluid (2) which is to be filled in, in which method the filling line (11) is then evacuated, and in which method the valve (10) is subsequently opened such that the fluid (2) which is stored under approximately atmospheric pressure rises through the riser line (7) into the evacuated filling line (11). The invention is based on the problem of preventing the undesired infiltration of moisture into the cooling circuit (1).

  • Publication number: 20090229295
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for servicing an air conditioner, particularly in a motor vehicle. According to the method, a test gas is applied at a defined pressure to the air conditioner cooling circuit that is depleted of coolant in order to perform a tightness test, and changes in the pressure are recorded and evaluated during a certain interval. The aim of the invention is to further develop such a method in such a way that the same can be carried out in a highly automated manner, rapidly, and without harming the environment. The aim is achieved by using a gas mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen as a test gas and inspecting the cooling circuit by means of a hydrogen probe once a drop in pressure has been recorded.
