  • Patent number: 7635480
Abstract: The present invention provides a compound chosen from: a peptide represented by the sequence SEQ ID No: 1 below: SEQ ID No: 1 Lys-Ala-Lys-Pro-Val-Gln-Lys-Leu-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Gly-Asp-Asp-Thr-Tyr-Lys-Glu-Glu-Arg-His-Asn-Lys and homologs of this peptide exhibiting at least 80% similarity with the sequence SEQ ID No: 1 and comprising from 20 to 30 amino acids. These compounds are useful in preventing, diagnosing and treating animal and/or human leptospirosis.

  • Publication number: 20070197432
Abstract: Compounds (I) that are the peptide of sequence (1), its homologs with at least 60% homology, or their salts, functional fragments, chemical analogs and chemical derivatives, are new. Compounds (I) that are the peptide of sequence (1), its homologs with at least 60% homology, and their salts, functional fragments, chemical analogs and chemical derivatives are new. Chemical analogs have one or more amino acids (aa) replaced by the D-enantiomer or a non-natural aa or one or more peptide bonds replaced by isosteres such as CH2NH, CH2S, CH2CH2, CH?CH, COCH2, CH(OH)CH2 or CH2SO. Chemical derivatives are des-alpha amino peptides; N-alpha-acyl substituted by RCO; derivatives substituted at C-terminal carboxy by amino, OR, SR or NHR; derivatives containing a pharmacophore, and polymers of the peptides. R=1-50C alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or cyclic group.

  • Publication number: 20050053622
Abstract: The invention relates to a vaccine against coronavirus infections and, in particular, against feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). The inventive vaccine comprises immunogenic peptides included in the S protein of feline coronaviruses (FcoV), which do not result from immunologic enhancement. The invention also relates to the use of at least one peptide for the preparation of a vaccine that induces protection against coronavirus infections, said peptide being selected from the group comprising fragments of an S protein of coronavirus of at least 12 amino acids, included in the SEQ ID NO: 5, or nucleic acid fragments of at least 36 nucleotides, included in the SEQ ID NO: 10 and coding for one of said peptides.

  • Patent number: 5683722
Abstract: A dosage form for orally administering chemical or medicinal substances such as vitamins, trace elements, amino acids, nutritive substances, vaccines, etc., to domestic or wild animals, and a method for preparing same, are disclosed. Said dosage form includes: a porous water-soluble central core containing binders selected from polypeptides, polysaccharides, polymers and colloids, and/or diluents selected from polyols, metal oxides, carbonates, phosphates and microcrystalline cellulose, and an effective amount of at least one bioactive substance; and a palatable hydrophobic outer layer containing at least one lipid substance selected from fatty alcohols, fatty acids, glycerol esters, hydrogenated oils, waxes, paraffin, lanolin, coconut oil and fatty acid salts; a polymeric agent for modulating the disintegration and adhesion of said outer layer, and natural or synthetic palatable substances.

  • Patent number: 4504553
Abstract: An infrared radiation reflecting substrate, having deposited thereon a first layer formed from a metal or an alloy, and a second layer deposited on the first layer and consisting of a solar radiation absorbing amorphous material, such as amorphous carbon. The substrate can be formed from an infrared radiation reflecting layer deposited on a primary substrate.

  • Patent number: 4486285
Abstract: By cathode sputtering in a reactive environment, a coating of a solid solon of chromium and an element such as nitrogen, carbon, phosphorus, boron or silicon is deposited. The content of the above element is higher than the saturation limit of the solid solution in chromium. It ranges between T.sub.m =0.2% and T.sub.M =3% by weight for carbon and between T.sub.m =0.04% and T.sub.M =3.5% by weight for nitrogen.
