  • Publication number: 20120138591
Abstract: A fuel-less and battery-less cigarette lighter is a manually powered lighter that operates without the use of fuel. The lighter includes a super capacitor (low voltage, very high capacitance) that is discharged into a resistance. This resistance then becomes hot enough to light a cigarette or cigar upon contact. The super capacitor is charged by means of a mechanical system, such as the user winding or squeezing the lighter and a micro generator. After charging, a switch allows the capacitor to discharge into the resistance.

  • Patent number: 4993730
Abstract: A rear steering control device for an automotive vehicle, wherein the finger carrying the roller portion is secured to a hub rigidly secured in coaxial relationship to both adjacent ends of both rear steering drag rods, respectively, and the drive shaft is coupled to a disc formed with peripheral teeth for rotating it about its axis when locking the front wheels so that the cam-like groove causes the rear steering drag rods to be moved in parallel relation to the axis.

  • Patent number: 4986568
Abstract: A suspension with variable damping or variable shock absorbing which permits varying the damping as a function of various parameters such as the speed, the height, or steering angle of the wheels. An anti-inclination or stabilizer bar is connected to the suspension arms of the wheels and to the detector for detecting the height of the front axles. The detector provides an electrical signal corresponding to the angle of rotation of the center of the stabilizer bar to an electronic calculator. When the signal exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the calculator transmits information to actuators to change the suspension damping or stiffness. The detector includes a casing mounted on the chassis and having a lever arm driven in rotation by a linkage connected to a lever rigidly attached to the center of the stabilizer bar.

  • Patent number: 4869519
Abstract: The present invention concerns a rear steering control device in particular for an automotive vehicle, this device comprising a plate with at least one cam-forming part forming a recess in the plate and whose profile defines the law of deflection of the rear wheels according to the deflection of the front wheels and a roller meshing with the cam-forming part and mechanically driven by the drive shaft so that the rotation of the transmission main shaft of the vehicle causes the roller to exert a thrust on the cam-forming part.

  • Patent number: 4576056
Abstract: A mechanism adapted to be coupled to a driven member capable of rotating alternately in both directions, in response to the rotation of a drive shaft. This mechanism comprises a motor, a gear train for reducing the speed of the motor and two clutches associated respectively with each direction of rotation, a control device for controlling the clutches positioned to bring into action one of the clutches depending on the direction and the amplitude of the torque applied to the drive shaft so that the driven member is driven by the motor and the gear train in the desired direction. Each clutch is connected to rotate the driven member through a unidirectional coupling which ensures that the driven member is rotated by the actuated clutch and not the reverse.

  • Patent number: 4416345
Abstract: An assistance mechanism is provided, which is adapted to be coupled to a driven member capable of rotating alternately in both directions, in response to the rotation of a drive shaft. The assistance mechanism comprises a motor, a device for reducing the speed of the motor and at least one clutch actuated by a controller. The controller includes a part which is coaxial with the driven member and slides against a resilient return spring in relation to the amplitude and the direction of the torque applied by the drive shaft. Each clutch is mounted on a shaft of the device for reducing speed, which rotates faster than the driven member. The controller further comprises a connection between the sliding part and the clutches. This rotary assistance mechanism is particularly suitable for use in conjunction with vehicle steering mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4409503
Abstract: A rotary assistance device (D) is provided adapted to be coupled to a driven member (1) capable of rotating in both directions, particularly in response to the rotation of a drive shaft (4), this device comprising a motor (M) able to rotate at a relatively high speed with respect to that of the drive shaft (4) and of the driven member (1), speed reducing means (7) and friction coupling means (E1, E2) for driving the driven shaft (1) through the speed reducing means (7) and the motor (M). The device comprises angular torque damping means (A) disposed between the motor (M) and the friction coupling (E1, E2).
