  • Patent number: 6387513
Abstract: The present invention relates to a more easily recyclable enamel composition which includes at least one glass frit and includes, as pigment(s), at least one or more manganese compounds, this composition furthermore having a melting temperature below 750° C. The invention also relates to an enamelling process using this composition, as well as to the enamelled products obtained.

  • Patent number: 5796071
Abstract: This invention concerns a pane, particularly a pane for an automobile vehicle, especially a rear window or side window, comprising a glass sheet coated on its inner face, i.e., the face intended to be towards the passenger compartment, with a network based upon an enamel composition of low emissivity and/or conductive of electricity, this network extending over, essentially, the entire area of the glass sheet corresponding to the viewing field, with a rate of coverage by the enamel composition of between 20 and 90%, and preferably between 25 and 80% of the area over which the network extends.

  • Patent number: 5605591
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for fabricating laminated glazing comprising at least one enamel layer, wherein is deposited an enamelled composition comprising an anti-adhesive frit, a medium and, optionally, a low melt point frit on a portion of the internal face of a glass sheet; the enamelled glass sheet is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature between 150.degree. C. and the glass deformation temperature, and a second glass sheet is placed on the enamelled side of the first glass sheet before simultaneous bending of the two glass sheets, final firing of the enamel taking place during bending.

  • Patent number: 5492951
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the treatment of the periphery of a glass, more particularly an encapsulated glass, which consists of treating part of the surface of the glass by at least one silane and a composition able to form a layer having free OH groups. This process is useful for treating glass so that a resin, such as a polyurethane, upon contact with the treated glass will readily adhere and bond to the glass. The treated glass can be fitted into car body bays or openings.

Date of Patent: February 20, 1996
    Assignee: Saint Gobain Vitrage International
    Inventors: Andre Beyrle, Philippe Armand
  • Patent number: 5431966
Abstract: The invention concerns a procedure for the fabrication of an enamel layer on a glass sheet. In accordance with the process, at least one portion of the drying operation is effected by microwaves, the enamel layer advantageously containing a microwave doping agent.

  • Patent number: 5378746
Abstract: The present invention relates to an encapsulated glazing, a priming composition for treating a glazing, and a process for the adhesion of a thermoplastic profile to a glazing. The process consists of treating at least the area of the glazing to be covered with the profile with an organosilane and a composition based on a chlorinated polyolefin, the average molecular weight of which is between 1,000 and 300,000 (as determined by gel permeation chromatography), followed by encapsulating the treated glazing with a thermoplastic material, in order to form the profile. Preferably, the encapsulating step is performed by injecting.
