  • Publication number: 20120141288
Abstract: Method for fabricating a reinforcing coating for a part made of composite material. Pre-impregnated reinforcing fibers are used in the form of slivers and said slivers are laid on the part in two layers of longitudinal slivers by being placed thereon. This fabrication makes provision for using an angular orientation for the slivers of each layer respectively of 0° and of some other angle relative to said determined direction of the solid body for covering using an interlaced pattern type that gives layer crossing lines parallel to a longitudinal axis of the solid body for covering, which pattern type is selected to form interlacing patterns that limit the number of layer crossing lines along the longitudinal axis of the solid body for covering to a single line.

  • Publication number: 20120138482
Abstract: The present invention relates to the treatment of wastewater by electrochemical reactions. More particularly, an Electro-Reaction Unit (ERU) is disclosed. The ERU is provided with at least one electrolytic cell comprising a pair of self-cleaned electrodes for purifying wastewater. Along with electro-reactions, electrodes of the ERU are submitted to passivation, i.e. coverage with an oxide layer. The present invention provides a solution for alleviating passivation with a self-cleaning system comprising hard elements, confined in a cage and movable therein, for bombardment of the electrodes and rupture of the oxide layer. The present invention further provides a related process.

  • Publication number: 20120144351
Abstract: A method of preparing a set of target layout data for the application of a photolithographic friendly design (LFD) analysis or other photolithographic analysis. The target layout data is revised to remove areas or features prior to performing the LFD analysis. The features removed include features that have been determined to print correctly, duplicate features and features that are not sensitive to variations in process conditions. The revised target layout is analyzed to determine if the features that remain will print correctly on a wafer.

  • Publication number: 20120138591
Abstract: A fuel-less and battery-less cigarette lighter is a manually powered lighter that operates without the use of fuel. The lighter includes a super capacitor (low voltage, very high capacitance) that is discharged into a resistance. This resistance then becomes hot enough to light a cigarette or cigar upon contact. The super capacitor is charged by means of a mechanical system, such as the user winding or squeezing the lighter and a micro generator. After charging, a switch allows the capacitor to discharge into the resistance.

  • Publication number: 20120143031
Abstract: Electrodes of a subcutaneous monitoring system receive body electrical signals that indicate both cardiac and non-cardiac muscle activity. In general, non-cardiac muscle activity is often correlated with physical activity, and physical activity is typically a strong indicator of patient health. Exemplary systems and methods that detect non-cardiac muscle activity information in sensed body electrical waveforms may provide a diagnostic tool for monitoring physical activity level over time in patients that have subcutaneous monitoring systems. In an illustrative embodiment, systems and methods for presenting patient activity information in a graphical format over intervals of time include processing ECG waveform information to identify and to accumulate non-cardiac muscular activity information during each of the intervals of time. In various implementations, number, intensity, and/or duration of the events that are identified during a time interval may be accumulated and stored for subsequent recall.

  • Publication number: 20120138452
Abstract: A method and apparatus for achieving very high deposition rate magnetron sputtering wherein the surface of a target and especially the race track zone area of the target, in one embodiment may be heated to such a degree that the target material approaches the melting point and sublimation sets in. Controlled heating is achieved primarily through the monitoring of the temperature of the target material and with the aid of a processor subsequently controlling the target temperature by adjustment of the power being inputted to the target. This controlled heating to the sublimation point is particularly effecting in high deposition rate metal coating of parts when used in conjunction with HIPIMS deposition.
