  • Patent number: 5266156
Abstract: Methods of forming local interconnects and high resistor polysilicon loads are disclosed. The local interconnects are formed by depositing a layer of polysilicon over CoSi.sub.2 in partially fabricated semiconductor wafers. The polysilicon is then coated with cobalt and annealed to form a second layer of of CoSi.sub.2. The method can be expanded to form a high resistor polysilicon load by depositing and patterning an oxide layer to form contact windows before application of the polysilicon layer. Another oxide layer is deposited over the polysilicon and patterned before application of the cobalt layer to define the areas which create the resistor load.

  • Patent number: 5266276
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process and apparatus for the gas-phase polymerization of olefins in a fluidized-bed reactor maintained at a temperature T1. A gaseous reaction mixture comprising the olefins to be polymerized passes through the reactor and is recycled to the reactor by means of a recycling line comprising successively a first heat transfer means, a compressor and a second heat transfer means. The present invention consists in introducing a readily volatile liquid hydrocarbon into the inlet of the first heat transfer means or into the recycling line, upstream and in the vicinity of the first heat transfer means. The first heat transfer means cools the gaseous reaction mixture to a temperature T2, below T1, while volatilizing the readily volatile hydrocarbon and without condensing a constituent of the gaseous reaction mixture. The second heat transfer means cools the gaseous reaction mixture to a temperature T3, below T2, for maintaining the fluidized-bed at the desired temperature T1.

  • Patent number: 5265804
Abstract: An electrically controlled fuel injector unit for fuel injection in internal combustion engines, in which an injection pump, an injection nozzle, and between them a control valve and control magnet are fastened in a fuel injector unit housing. The control valve and the control magnet, including requisite conduits, are combined in a magnet valve housing to form a structural unit that is inserted as a whole into the fuel injector unit housing. The control valve and control magnet are disposed eccentrically in the magnet valve housing, and a high-pressure conduit that connects the pump work chamber to the injection nozzle extends on a side of the magnet valve housing having a greater accumulation of material resulting from the eccentricity.

  • Patent number: 5263457
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines has an adjusting piston for adjusting an injection instant, is acted upon by a return force and delimits a working space, a control slide delimiting a pressure space in the adjusting piston and displaceable in the adjusting piston counter to a return force by a pressure-source supply pressure in the pressure space and controlled as a function of speed of the engine so that the working space can be connected to a pressure source or to a relief space, and so the supply pressure in the pressure space is additionally controlled as a function of further operating parameters of the engine. A feed pump delivering at a rate proportional to speed has a delivery side connected to the pressure space, a pressure line, containing a restriction, directly connects the delivery side of the feed pump to the pressure space so that the pressure is directly connected with the feed pump exclusively by the pressure line and is not connected with the inlet chamber.

  • Patent number: 5263392
Abstract: A support (10) for a hand operated rotatable tool, such as a wheel brace (12), having a socket (74) for location upon a nut/stud (14) for supporting an elbow (72) of the tool during use to inhibit slippage of the socket (74) off the nut/stud (14). The support (10) solves the problem of loosening nuts/studs (14) tightened with pneumatic wrenches--which loosening is often difficult and sometimes impossible with the relatively small wheel braces (12) provided in vehicle tool kits. The support (10) has a cradle (26) whose height above the ground can be adjusted so as to support the wheel brace (12) whilst maintaining an axis of the socket (74) in alignment with an axis of the nut/stud (14). The cradle (26) is mounted upon a frame (19) having a base (20), a first leg (22) and a second leg (24). The first leg (22) is pivoted between the base (20) and the second leg (24) so that the support (10) can be collapsed to a storage condition and erected to an in-use condition with the cradle (26) disposed upper-most.

  • Patent number: 5262004
Abstract: Preservatives and oil are extracted from treated wood. For this purpose, treated wood that is intended to be discarded is comminuted, the chips are impregnated with an alkaline solution until softening of the chips and modification of the chemical state of the products to be extracted. Possibly, the chips may be treated with saturated steam at a temperature between 170.degree. C. and 210.degree. C. followed by an explosive decompression giving wood fragments. This is followed by a refining operation in a crusher permitting the grinding of the wood. The result is a substantial release of the preservatives and oil from the wood chips which are at least partly disintegrated. The chemical preservatives and the oil are collected separately from the wood chips in the aqueous phases which are produced in the impregnation, steam cooking-explosive decompression and refining steps.

  • Patent number: 5262847
Abstract: A method of converting a digital video signal having a luminance component for each pixel of a frame and two color difference components for contiguous groups of pixels in the frame into a video signal having three color components for each pixel is disclosed. Two color lookup tables are provided, each being indexed by a combination of the luminance level for a pixel and a color difference component for the group including the pixel. Entries in each color lookup table include a component value for one color and a subcomponent contributing to a component value for another color. The method provides combining the luminance components and color difference components for each pixel represented in the compressed digital video signal to retrieve the color component values for the three color video signal. Two colors are extracted directly from the lookup tables. The third color component is generated by combining subcomponent values extracted from the tables.
