Abstract: A packaging laminate for a packaging container for a food product, which packaging laminate comprises an outer polypropylene based heat sealable layer, a paper or paperboard based bulk layer, an aluminium gas barrier layer, and an inside comprising an inner polypropylene based heat sealable layer. The inner polypropylene based heat sealable layer is bonded to the aluminium gas barrier layer by intermediate layers of linear low density polyethylene and ethylene (meth)acrylic acid copolymer or other acid polymer, the ethylene (meth)acrylic acid copolymer or other acid polymer being directly bonded to the aluminium gas barrier layer. The invention also relates to a film intended to form the inside of the packaging laminate, a method in connection with the production of the packaging laminate, and a packaging container formed from the packaging laminate.

Abstract: Method in connection with the production of a packaging container, including a) choosing or manufacturing a web shaped packaging laminate according to claim 1, b) converting said packaging laminate to a continuous tube by overlapping two longitudinal edges of the web shaped packaging laminate and heat sealing the overlapped edges to provide a longitudinal seal, c) filling the tube with contents, d) intermittently performing transversal seals by mechanically pressing together two transversal anvil jaws while the filled tube is arranged there between, e) while at the same time providing energy to the packaging laminate at an area of said transversal seal.

Abstract: A polymer film comprising a gas barrier coating of SiOx directly coated onto a first side of a polymer carrier layer. The film also comprises a heat sealable polyolefin layer arranged on a second side of the polymer carrier layer. The invention also relates to a packaging laminate comprising the polymer film and to a packaging container produced from such a packaging laminate. The invention further relates to a process for the production of the polymer film.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gas barrier packaging laminate (10) having durability to stress crack formation and yet a bending stiffness and good integrity between the laminate layers, comprising outer layers of heat-sealable polyolefin (16, 17), two polymer carrier layers (11, 12) each being coated with a SiOx gas barrier layer (13, 14), wherein the two polymer carrier layers with SiOx layers are laminated to each other by means of an intermediate polymer layer (15), which includes a thermoplastic polymer having high elastomeric properties. The required stiffness of the packaging laminate is obtained by forming a structural sandwich construction with two stiff carrier layers separated by a relatively thick lower density intermediate layer. Preferably, the thickness of the intermediate polymer layer (15) constitutes from about 30 to about 55% of the total thickness of the packaging laminate (10).

Abstract: Packaging laminate (10) for a packaging container, which packaging laminate comprises a structural base layer (4), and an inside layer (6). According to the invention, said inside layer (6) comprises a sealing ply (2) of a heat sealable thermoplastic material, which sealing ply is arranged to be the outermost layer on one side of the laminate (10), intended to be arranged on the inside of said container, said heat sealable thermoplastic material exhibiting a melt enthalply lower than 115 J/g. Abstract: Composition based on thermoplastic polymers, especially .alpha.-olefine polymers, such as polyethylene or ethylene copolymers, to which have been added, to promote degradation, a biologically degradable substance, an iron compound possibly complex and soluble in the composition, an oxidizable substance having one or several double bonds, selected from fatty acids and/or fatty acid esters, as well a further possible compound of a transition metal with the exception of iron as a catalyst. Said compositions demonstrate a markedly improved degradation capability when exposed to heat and/or ultraviolet light and/or sunlight and/or when in conditions promoting decomposition.
