  • Patent number: 8952285
Abstract: An electric switch for application to high- and very high-voltage circuit breakers and switches comprising a flexible toroidal helical spring (8) placed in a groove of a control rod (1) carrying a movable resistance-insertion contact (2), and springs (4) placed about the movable resistance-insertion contact to cause the springs to be compressed until a certain value is reached, at which value the movable resistance-insertion contact causes the flexible toroidal helical spring (8) to deform under pressure enabling the movable resistance-insertion contact (2) to be withdrawn. Among other uses, the switch is suitable for use in a resistance-inserting device that does not need additional mechanical moving parts. For application to high- and very high-voltage circuit breakers and switches.

  • Patent number: 8044317
Abstract: A high or very high voltage circuit breaker comprising, for each phase: at least two breaker chambers connected electrically in series and disposed parallel to each other in a metal tank, in which the ends of the chambers through which at least one pair of movable contacts of each chamber is driven lie in a common plane; and the mechanical transmission assembly whereby simultaneous movement is transmitted, and which ensures identical stroke lengths for the movements of the movable contacts of at least two chambers, comprises firstly at least two bars of identical lengths, each coupled to the pair of movable contacts of one of the chambers, and secondly, drive means coupled to at least one drive rod outside the tank or passing through its wall.

  • Patent number: 7426100
Abstract: A device for the actuation of the movable contacts of a hybrid circuit breaker allows the following time diagram to be implemented: command the opening of the interrupting chamber, offset the opening of the vacuum switch so as to allow the interrupting chamber contacts to separate at a minimum speed and in a way that is synchronous with the separation of the vacuum switch contacts, close the vacuum switch while keeping the interrupting chamber in the open position. Moreover, closing the interrupting chamber does not act upon the contacts of the vacuum switch.

Moreover, closing the interrupting chamber does not act upon the contacts of the vacuum switch. The actuation device can be found in a number of embodiments, and allows the vacuum interrupter to be controlled when the circuit breaker is triggered or closed.

  • Patent number: 5717184
Abstract: The present invention relates to a high-voltage circuit-breaker including a casing that is filled with a dielectric gas and that contains a first arcing contact and a second arcing contact, which arcing contacts are mounted to move in opposite directions from an open position to a closed position and vice versa, the first contact being secured by means of a ring to a tube mounted to slide in a support portion electrically connected to a terminal. Said ring is made of an insulating material, the first contact is extended by a rod that is in alignment with the contact, which rod is disposed on the side of the first contact that is further from the second contact, and is connected to a resistance, and said rod carries a switching member organized to connect said rod directly to said support portion during closure.
