  • Patent number: 4770323
Abstract: A sterile package for liquid and semi-liquid fluids comprises a container (1) containing the product to be dispensed (2). It is hermetically sealed by a breakable membrane seal (3) until first use, and includes an axial tube (4) extending from below the seal down to the bottom of the container (1). A dispensing head or cap (5)is fixed onto the neck (12) of the container and comprises a manually actuated member (6) for perforating the seal and for putting the dip tube into communication with a dispensing passage (7) which extends through the cap. The perforating member (6) is tubular, sliding axially and telescopically at one end of the dispensing passage (7). It comprises a snap-engagement mechanism (8) co-operating, at the end of its travel and after perforation of the seal (3), with complementary snap-engagement mechanism (10) on a fixed element of the package to cause the perforating member (6) to engage with the dip tube (4) in a positive sealing manner.

  • Patent number: 4463784
Abstract: In a valve assembly for a pressurized dispenser, such as of the kind commonly known as aerosol cans, a novel arrangement is proposed for sealing the spray tip or button to the ferrule or center boss of the mounting cup of the valve during `gassing`. An inwardly directed annular shoulder formed in the top wall of the ferrule or center boss is engaged by an outwardly facing annular surface on the underside of the spray tip and the higher the pressure the better the seal. As the spray tip no longer needs to be as flexible as hitherto it can be made of polypropylene. A complementary outward-facing shoulder on the underside of the top wall helps to locate the rim of the valve shell and thereby to resist displacement of the gasket during gassing.

  • Patent number: 4393984
Abstract: Vapor tap valve for use in particular with fluids having a propellant gas which is inmiscible. A number of passages for the liquid/gas mixture between the interior of the valve shell where single entry points are provided, separate for the liquid and for the gas; these passages abutting on the passage of the actuating stem of the valve. A better mixing of the gas with the liquids is obtained with a path for a gas access to the interior of the outlet valve as short as possible up to the outlet passage of the valve. The incoming extra gas enters immediately next to the inner surface of the sealing gasket.

  • Patent number: 4132333
Abstract: In a method for the relative orientation of the spray-discharge valve actuator and actuator nozzle of a container with respect to a protective cover which is designed to operate the valve actuator, the cover is brought closer to the actuator in coaxial relation thereto, the cover and actuator are brought into the desired relative orientation with friction between a radial lug carried by the actuator and a helical ramp carried by the cover and inclined at an angle of slope of at least 45.degree. with respect to the axis. The cover is then brought in a movement of axial displacement to a position of operation of the actuator on the container.

  • Patent number: 4053086
Abstract: A manually-operated, reciprocating pump for liquids comprising a pump body with a slidable piston, the piston being manually moved in one direction by a manually-operated actuating member and is resiliently-returned by a spring; the delivery stroke of the piston is disengaged from the actuating member during the return stroke so that the discharge is independent of the movement of the actuating member.
