Publication number: 20070245451Abstract: A protective athletic glove comprises an inner palm side and an opposed outer padded side. The inner palm side has a palm surface covering a majority of the inner palm side and at least one opening defined within the palm surface. A wicking material is disposed at least across the opening. The wicking material is more breathable than the main palm material and has aspiration pores therethrough which actively draw moisture from an inner surface of the wicking material to an outer surface thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2006Publication date: October 25, 2007Inventors: Andre Desjardins, Trevor Tierney

Patent number: 6934972Abstract: A removable flat flexible disabling insert is disposed between interengaging members which are provided for registry with one another in opposed displaceable surface portions of adjustable shell portions of an adjustable helmet. The disabling insert prevents interengagement of the interengaging members but permits adjustable displacement of the shell portions. The disabling insert, when removed, permits engagement of the interengaging members. Particularly, but not exclusively, the insert is used with a hockey helmet having front and back adjustable shell portions.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2003Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Itech Sport Products Inc.Inventors: André Desjardins, Stephen Goodhand

Patent number: 6483869Abstract: A sub-rate modulation method that is compatible with full-rate ADSL modems. The method may be used to implement a reduced complexity transceiver, preferably remotely located from the central office or service provider. The method includes instructing the full-rate modem to transmit data using a subset of available carriers; receiving the subset of carriers at the remote location; and performing a reduced complexity time-to-frequency domain transform. The full rate modem is instructed to use every other carrier, resulting in a transmitted time domain sequence that is cyclic—the first half of the symbol is identical to the second half. As a result, the first half of the symbol is treated as an extended cyclic prefix by the sub-rate ADSL modem, resulting in the elimination of the need to perform time-domain equalization at the sub-rate ADSL modem receiver. This substantially reduces the amount of signal processing required by the sub-rate ADSL transceiver.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1998Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Assignee: 3Com CorporationInventor: Philip Andre DesJardins

Patent number: 5976589Abstract: The package includes a container and a lid therefor, both made of a thermal insulating foam material. The container has a line of weakening extending across the bottom wall and the side wall of the container to permit breaking of the latter into two parts across the cavity. The line of weakening is disposed in a plane which is normal to the bottom wall and which is located in the area of maximum width of the cavity. The container serves as a mould for a flowable settable food product which, once set, is readily available for eating by breaking the container across the cavity. The food product is normally ice cream and a release film surrounds the same within the cavity. One or more cavities may be provided in the same container. The lid seals each cavity independently of the others.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1997Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Inventor: Andre Desjardins

Patent number: 5786011Abstract: A food product container having a body which comprises a central section, peripheral sections and, individual cavities to contain small portions of food product. Each cavity of the body overlaps the central section and one of the peripheral sections which are linked via a weakening line permitting detachment of the two sections. This detachment allows for the removal of a food portion in the cavity without altering the food portion in the adjacent cavities. The geometrical shape of the cavity makes it easy to remove the food product from the container especially when the weakening line is located at the maximal width of the geometrical shape.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 1997Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Inventor: Andre Desjardins
