  • Patent number: 6522332
Abstract: Action data for the animation of characters is generated in a computer animation system. Body part positions for a selected character are positioned in response to body part positions captured from performance data. The positions and orientations of body parts are identified for a generic actor in response to a performance in combination with a bio-mechanical model. As a separate stage of processing, positions and orientations of body parts for a character are identified in response to the position and orientation of body parts for the generic actor in combination with a bio-mechanical model. Registration data for the performance associates body parts of the performance and body parts of the generic actor. Similar registration data for the character associates body parts in the generic actor with body parts of the character.

  • Patent number: 6442606
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for indexing electronic documents that include one or more visible text portions and one or more non-visible text portions. The method includes the step of identifying an electronic document. Once the electronic document is identified, a set of words is selected from a particular tag type that is associated with one or more non-visible text portions of the electronic document. Each word in the selected set of words is compared with words in the one or more visible text portions of the electronic document. An index word set is then determined for the electronic document based on matches between words in the selected set of words and words in the one or more visible text portions of the electronic document.

  • Patent number: 5672080
Abstract: The water bicycle has three basic components: an elongated floatation board, a propulsion and seat unit which is releasably connectable to a central portion of the board, and a steering unit which is also releasably connectable to the board, in front of the propulsion and seat unit. These two units are respectively inserted into an opening and a bore provided in the board and are releasably locked therein by snap connectors of the self-binding type. Such locking makes the components quicker and easier to assemble and dissemble.

  • Patent number: 4636631
Abstract: The invention relates to a photoconducting detector in optical immersion, comprising a detector wafer in Hg.sub.1-x Cd.sub.x Te, on a quartz substrate, and a hemispherical lens in CdTe, assembled on each other by a layer of photosensitive resin whose thickness is calibrated by two shims. The detector is advantageously used for the evaluation of targets.

  • Patent number: 4624715
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for passivation of photoconductive detectors constituted by Hg Cd Te, wherein a layer of native oxide is formed on the faces of an Hg Cd Te wafer and it is made to grow, by pure chemical oxidation in an aqueous solution of K.sub.3 Fe(CN).sub.6 and of KOH. An ordinary layer of ZnS is then formed on the oxide layer. The process makes it possible to produce high-performance infrared detectors, simply.

  • Patent number: 4532699
Abstract: A parallelepipedic detection wafer of type p made of Hg Cd Te is taken, islets or raised zones are formed from the front face and their structure is rounded, zones of type n are diffused from the front face, in order to form junctions, metallic contact terminals are formed from the front face up to the bottom level of the raised zones, the detection wafer is thinned from the rear face, the terminals are isolated, the pieces of raised zones are attached by the rear face on a processing wafer and the terminals are welded on metallization zones of the processing wafer. The invention enables an infrared detector for camera to be manufactured.

  • Patent number: 4420684
Abstract: The photodetector comprises a silicon substrate with high sensitivity, a diffusion layer defining a PN junction, and a CdTe layer, as filter, placed on the face close to the PN junction, for stopping radiations of wave lengths shorter than 0.8 .mu.m. The photodetector is suitable for detecting radiations of AsGa diodes used in optical telecommunication systems.

  • Patent number: 4418096
Abstract: A process for preparing layers with a superficial composition of Hg.sub.1-x Cd.sub.x Te comprising the steps of producing a wafer by forming a layer of superficial composition Hg.sub.1-y Cd.sub.y Te on a substrate of CdTe, y being less than the desired value x, and subjecting this wafer to a thermal interdiffusion treatment at a temperature of between about 350.degree. and about 750.degree. C., under such conditions that the layer of Hg.sub.1-y Cd.sub.y Te cannot decompose.
