  • Patent number: 11937658
Abstract: A sports helmet has: a shell; a face protector; and a face mask disposed on an inner side of the face protector, the face mask having a body overlapping a nose and a mouth and defining a volume between the face and the body, the body defining a top edge for engaging the face and a bottom edge opposed to the top edge and disposed proximate a chin, the bottom edge secured to a lower portion of the face protector at a location spaced apart from the face to define a gap therebetween, and lateral straps secured to one or both of the face protector and the shell for biasing the top edge against the face of the wearer, the body made of a material offering a flow resistance such that an exhalation flow from the wearer is deviated towards the gap and away from the face protector.

  • Patent number: 6995016
Abstract: A process is provided for inducing direct somatic embryogenesis in Pooideae and rapidly regenerating fertile plants by first culturing isolated immature scutella cells in culture medium comprising auxin, cytokinin and polyamine in amounts effective to cause direct formation of primary embryos without an intervening callus stage, at least until at least one primary embryo reaches the globular developmental stage, the auxin being present in greater proportion than cytokinin.

  • Publication number: 20020164798
Abstract: A process for inducing direct somatic embryogenesis and secondary embryogenesis in monocotyledonous plant cells and rapidly regenerating fertile monocotyledonous plants is provided. In a first step, embryogenic monocotyledonous plant cells are cultured under conditions conducive to direct formation of primary embryos without an intervening callus stage, at least until at least one primary embryo reaches the globular developmental stage and no longer than the coleoptilar stage. In a second step, one or more primary embryos from the first step are cultured under conditions conducive to induction of secondary embryo formation, until secondary embryogenesis is detected. In a third step, one or more secondary embryos from the second step are cultured under conditions conducive to regeneration of plantlets from the secondary embryos.

  • Patent number: 4972190
Abstract: An analog signal digitizer for recording analog signals in a digital form on a video tape of a video cassette player. The digitizer is connectible between an audio production device, such as a compact disc, turntable, or any other audio devices of any quality, and a standard video recorder (VCR). Accordingly, the digitizer acts as an interface device, and converts the analog signals into digital form for recording on the wide band tapes utilized in these standard video recorders. The digitizer has a control circuit at the heart of its system, and it is provided with a memory device to produce control signals in association with audio information digital signals, and arranges these digital signals in a sensitized video-compatible format so that the video cassette treats the output signals of the digitizer as standard television signals.
