  • Patent number: 10618404
Abstract: A vehicle includes a frame, a plurality of ground-engaging members, a steering assembly for steering the vehicle, an internal combustion engine, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). An engine air intake system provides air to the engine and includes a first air inlet facing generally forwardly and a first rearwardly-extending conduit portion extending rearwardly from the first air inlet. The first rearwardly-extending conduit portion fluidly communicates with an engine air inlet. A CVT air intake system provides air to the CVT and includes a second air inlet facing generally forwardly and a second rearwardly-extending conduit portion extending rearwardly from the second air inlet. The second rearwardly-extending conduit portion fluidly communicates with a cooling air inlet of the CVT. The engine is disposed at least in part laterally between the first and second rearwardly-extending conduit portions.

  • Patent number: 9694872
Abstract: A vehicle has a frame, a straddle seat supported by the frame, a left front wheel and a right front wheel and at least one rear wheel operatively connected to the frame. An engine is supported by the frame and operatively connected to at least one of the wheels. A front cowling assembly is supported by the frame. A storage bin is disposed at least in part inside the front cowling assembly. At least one radiator fluidly communicates with the engine for cooling the engine. At least a portion of at least one of the at least one radiator is longitudinally and vertically aligned with at least a portion of the storage bin.

  • Patent number: 8438942
Abstract: A vehicle transmission comprises a locking mechanism selectively preventing an at least one shift drum disposed on a shift drum shaft from rotating. The locking mechanism is movable between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the locking mechanism prevents the at least one shift drum from rotating in the first direction to engage a first locked position. When in the second position, the locking mechanism prevents the at least one shift drum from rotating in the second direction to engage a second locked position. The second locked position is sequentially before the first locked position in the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20090012788
Abstract: The translation system of a preferred embodiment includes an input element that receives an input language as audio information, an output element that displays an output language as visual information, and a remote server coupled to the input element and the output element, the remote server including a database of sign language images; and a processor that receives the input language from the input element, translates the input language into the output language, and transmits the output language to the output element, wherein the output language is a series of the sign language images that correspond to the input language and that are coupled to one another with substantially seamless continuity, such that the ending position of a first image is blended into the starting position of a second image.
