A closed growing environment unit can receive the consumables. The closed growing environment unit is independent of the surrounding environment. The closed growing environment unit can have an antenna configured to communicate with memory chips of the consumables. Sensors may be configured to measure the growing environment conditions. Actuators can be configured to modify the growing environment conditions in the closed growing environment unit. An identification system can be configured to wirelessly communicate with the antenna of the closed growing environment unit and receive consumable growing program identification information from the memory chips.

These parameters allow the server to determine if resources dedicated to previous long polls from the client have been released. If there may still be resourced dedicated, they are released so that the new poll can be established and no redundant long polls are maintained.

Abstract: A node in home network serves as a coordinator to coordinate the use of bandwidth by clients that voluntarily cooperate with one another to share bandwidth on different network connections. Specifically, the coordinator maintains information for these network connections that logically represents the different connections as independent pools of usable bandwidth. This bandwidth information also indicates the amount of bandwidth available for use from each pool. The coordinator receives advertisements from clients advertising tentative use of a specified amount of bandwidth drawn from each of one or more pools. Responsive to these advertisements, the coordinator notifies clients regarding whether or not, according to the bandwidth information, the one or more pools from which their respective advertised uses would draw from each have the specified amount of bandwidth available.

The method includes: maintaining the updates in a data hierarchy of updates; receiving a first message identifying a client; retrieving information associated with the client; determining which updates are relevant to the client by matching the information associated with the client to the data hierarchy of updates; and transmitting a second message toward the client with information associated with the determined updates.

Abstract: A method and an Event Tracking System (ETS) are provided for group communications. The method allows subscribing with an Event Organizing System (EOS) for updates to a group event instance comprising a group of users and an event related to the group, e.g. a hockey match. The method further allows receiving from users subscriptions to the updates of the group event instance. Responsive to subscribing with the EOS for the updates to the group event instance, the ETS receives from the EOS an update notification related to the group event instance notifying of a group event update (e.g. an update of the group membership and/or of the event), and responsive to the user subscriptions with the ETS, the later sends out an update notification message to each one of the users notifying of the group event update. In one embodiment, the update notifications sent out to users are personalised, e.g. based on the user's location or advertisement preferences.

Abstract: A method and telecommunications node for synchronising the content of a first node database such as for example of a Manager Management Information Base (MIB) with another node's database, such as for example an Agent MIB. The first node sends a synchronization request to the second node indicating the time when the first node was last updated. The second node scans through a list of changes dating from its own last update until the first node's last update, said scan being performed in a last-in-first-out (LIFO) fashion. If an item was found to be deleted, there is no point in scanning further ahead for creation or changes on this item. If an item was created at a given time, there is no point in scanning further ahead for this item. If an item was changed (i.e. one of its attribute was modified), the scanning continues in order to sum all changes on this item.

Abstract: A method, system and agent for exchanging the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Technical Specification document number a first node uses, with a second node of the network, so that subsequent communications can be properly carried between the nodes. The first node may be an agent and the second node may be a manager of a management system. The manager sends a GetXXXIRPVersion request message, a GetNotificationCategories request message, or a GetNetworkResourceSchemeId request message, to which the agent responds with an abridged version of the 3GPP TS document number the agent uses in this type of communications, so that the manager is informed of the protocol employed by the agent and can expect communications of the type indicated by the agent.

Abstract: A method, system and cluster of Management Objects (MOs) for creating and maintaining a relationship between one or more MOs and one or more attribute values that are common to the MOs. These attribute values may be contained in one or more configuration templates, and the MOs are grouped in a cluster of MOs sharing the same attribute values, i.e. the same configuration templates. The relationship provided by the cluster between the templates and the MOs allows for a one-time definition of the persistent relationship, which reduces the subsequent edition tasks. The relation between the management objects and templates is first defined by creating the cluster with MOs and templates. Subsequent updates to the templates are propagated to the MOs of the cluster. Likewise, subsequent addition of MOs to the cluster engenders a transfer of attribute values of the cluster's templates to the added MOs.

Abstract: A method and manager node is provided for verifying status information of Managed Objects (MOs) of a management system before propagating an update to a managed network. Subsequent to an attribute change of a given MO in the manager, the manager detects other MOs related to the updated MO, such as neighbour radio cells of a given radio cell. The manager obtains status information relative to each related MO, such as synchronization information, connection information or coupling information. If the status information is adequate for pursuing the update, the manager propagates the update to the managed network. Otherwise, the manager issues a warning to the system administrator, and only propagates the change to the managed network when confirmed by the systems administrator.

Abstract: A method and manager node for setting a synchronization status of a Managed Object (MO) based on an outcome of synchronization between the manager and a related Network Element (NE). An attribute of a management system's first MO that represents a first NE of a managed network is changed in the manager. Responsive to the attribute change, and because the first NE is related to a second NE of the managed network, the manager initiates an update of a second NE of the managed network for propagating the change to that second NE, in addition to updating the first NE, and further determines whether or not the update of the second NE has been completed successfully. The manager sets a synchronization attribute of a second MO that represents the second NE in the management system to a value representative of an outcome of the update of the second NE.

Abstract: A method and Graphical User Interface (GUI) for viewing and editing attribute values of Managed Objects (MOs) representative of Network Elements (NEs) and NEs components of a managed network that use different versions of Management Object Model (MOM). An administrator selects one or more MOs from a list of MOs and the GUI displays the attribute values for each selected MO based on the MOM version information relative to the NEs that corresponds to the selected MOs. The administrator further edits one or more attribute values of one or more MO, which may include editing a first value of an MO, and then copying it to other MOs. The copied value is adapted to the MOM version used by the target MO(s), and then displayed on the GUI. Finally, the administrator issues a command, and the updated values are translated into commands understandable by the appropriate NEs, which received the commands.
