  • Publication number: 20020043472
Abstract: A case for retaining eyeglasses of the locking hinge type, has a front side and a rear side joined to form a closed bottom of the case. The top portions of each side are separate from each other, and rest against each other when the case is in a resting, closed position. At least one of the sides has a generally convex outer surface and a corresponding concave inner surface to form a hollow portion within the case. The top perimeters and the bottom perimeters meet to form two junctions at opposite side edges of the case, such that when inward pressure is applied at each junction, the top perimeters move away from each other to open the case, and upon release of said pressure, the top perimeters return to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4382462
Abstract: The invention is an apparatus for removing a dummy bar from a casting line and reintroducing the dummy bar into the mold. The apparatus comprises a handling system for moving a basket from an end station where the dummy bar is separated from a continuous casting to a position above the mold of the casting installation. The system includes a lifting frame capable of holding the basket, a raising device having one end attached to the lifting frame for vertically raising the lifting frame, a travel frame supporting and end of a raising device opposite to the one end, the travel frame having vertical runways capable of receiving and guiding the raised lifting frame, and a horizontal pathway supporting the travel frame for movement to and from the position above the mold.

  • Patent number: 3995683
Abstract: Individual guide rolls or pairs of guide rolls in a common cage may be removed from the guide rack of a continuous casting machine by a hoisting mechanism mounted on a vehicle traveling in a path parallel to the path of the cast metal defined by the rack. The hoisting mechanism includes two track members pivotally mounted on the vehicle. A carrier equipped to be attached to a roll or cage, a slide, and a link chain for raising and lowering the carrier are associated with each track member. The slide moves on or in the track member, the carrier moves on the slide and is automatically coupled to and disengaged from the associated slide in such a manner that a roll attached to the carriers is guided by respective faces of the two slides into or out of the rack to a position which permits travel of the vehicle.
