  • Patent number: 6896284
Abstract: Device for raising the elements (12, 44) of a ski binding consisting of two platforms (1, 4) articulated together in a median zone of the device. One of the platforms (4) has an extension (5) extending beyond the axis of articulation (7) of the platforms, via which extension a part of the force exerted by the skier on the binding may be applied to the ski in the median zone of the binding so as to improve grip and behavior of the ski during a turn.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 2002
Date of Patent: May 24, 2005
    Assignee: Skis Rossignol S.A.
    Inventor: André Jean Kruajitch
  • Patent number: 6616171
Abstract: A device for raising at least one element (5) of a binding used on a board (3) for gliding, including an element (4) which is articulated relative to the board and one end (30) of which comes into contact with the upper face (6) of the board. The element (5) of the binding is mounted on the articulated element (4) and the end (30) of the articulated element (4) is secured to the upper face (6) of the board by attaching member (33) so that the forces exerted vertically at the location of the binding element (5) are partly transmitted to the board (3) at the location of the end (30) of the articulated element (4).

  • Patent number: 6581956
Abstract: A device for raising at least one element of a binding used on a board for gliding, including: a zone for mounting the binding, integral with the board for gliding; a bearing zone, extending the mounting zone in the direction of the end of the board, wherein the end of the bearing zone facing toward the end of the board is secured to the upper face of the board by an attaching means in such a manner that the forces exerted at the location of the element of the binding are partially transmitted to the board at the location of said end of the bearing zone, and which includes a transverse groove located between the mounting zone and the bearing zone so as to allow the deformation of the bearing zone when the board is bent.

  • Publication number: 20020121764
Abstract: A raised platform (1) for a ski binding, intended to be mounted on a ski by a longitudinal guide and vertical retention means in its front and rear zones (3, 4) and/or by binding to the ski in its central part. The platform is made in a single piece which is essentially rigid and narrowed in its central zone (5) so as to be flexible in this zone. A raised platform of this type makes it possible to obtain virtually complete unclamping of the ski in its central part.

  • Patent number: 6244617
Abstract: A heel piece of a safety binding for a ski boot, comprising a sole grip body (7) which is mounted on a stirrup piece (4, 5) articulated to a plate (3) which is in turn mounted so as to pivot on a base (2) mounted and immobilized on a rail (1) which is fixed to the ski. The heel piece is equipped with a ski brake (8) which is mounted on the base (2), in front of the pivoting plate (3) so that it moves with the base and remains at a fixed distance from the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 6206404
Abstract: The heel piece of a safety binding for a ski boot, comprising a tubular binding body which is linked to a sole grip (1a) and is articulated about a transverse cam forming part of a stirrup piece linked to a pivoting plate mounted on a rail, along which rail this plate can be positioned by rear-operated positioning means. The body contains at least one spring which works in compression between a piston bearing on the cam and a stop linked to or consisting of a setting screw. The cam is formed in a cylindrical part which serves as a rotation pin for the body and has a flat extending parallel to the axis of said cylindrical part, with the piston bearing on this flat when the heel piece is closed. The cam has a second flat or a stop limiting the tilting of the binding body when the heel piece is being opened.
