Abstract: This invention concerns a granule, with a high capacity for absorption which can be used to absorb liquids and moisture from solid waste, obtained through the processing of natural raw materials, such as: cassava mass and sugar cane bagasse. It has an optimum yield, and a high capacity for absorption and for neutralizing odors; the residues are retained in solid agglomerates which are easy to handle. It is non-toxic, made from renewable materials, and non-prejudicial to the health of animals or those who handle it. It is practical, hygienic and easy to handle. The granule obtained can be used as a “hygienic granule” for use with domestic animals. A process for producing the granule is also described.
