Abstract: A device for generating and transmitting high-frequency (HF) waves which are generated by an HF generating unit and conducted through a hollow waveguide into a treatment chamber of an appliance to apply microwave energy to goods to be treated therein includes: a circuit board; and the hollow waveguide. The hollow waveguide includes a housing made of metal and at least two housing parts. The housing of the hollow waveguide is connected to the circuit board. The circuit board has mounted thereon a circuit arrangement for generating HF waves and that includes a power transistor and an HF conductor structure leading into the hollow waveguide. The HF conductor structure has an HF transition structure for converting a circuit board conductor mode to a hollow waveguide mode in order to introduce HF waves into the hollow waveguide. The circuit board carrying the HF transition structure is disposed between the housing parts.
