Abstract: The invention relates to the filling of an electrochemical cell (10) with an electrolyte, said cell having, in its interior (12), at least one electrode stack and one casing which at least partially encloses the electrode stack(s). For filling to take place, a negative pressure is generated in the interior (12) of the cell (10) (step S3) and the interior (12) of the cell (10) is then connected to an electrolyte feed (24) (step S5). In order to ensure that the cell (10) is filled with the electrolyte in a uniform and total manner, a first pressure and a second pressure are alternatingly applied to an outer side (14) of the cell (10) while the electrolyte feed (24) is connected, the second pressure being lower than the first pressure (steps S6 and S7).
