Abstract: An annular elastomeric gasket (3) for a female pipe socket includes locking elements (E) having an outer extremity 15 intended to bear against an inner surface of the socket and an inner extremity 18 intended to penetrate the outer surface of a male pipe end. The locking elements have shoulders (21) for limiting their penetration into the male pipe.

Abstract: An elastomer packing 2 for male/female pipe joints is fitted with peripherally distributed, inserted or embedded locking elements E having a "seven" or T shape. The insertion of the male pipe into the female socket compresses the packing to establish a seal, and rotates the locking elements inwardly. Any withdrawal movements of the male pipe are halted by the counterrotation of the locking elements, whose beveled inner edges bite into the male pipe surface in a wedge like manner.

Abstract: A sealed joint for connecting cast iron hot water pipes includes a gasket G disposed between a spigot 5 and a socket 6 of two pipes 4, a spacer 1 between the socket end and an outer jacket 8 surrounding a layer of insulation 7, a sealing ring 2, and a clamp 3 to fasten a skirt of the ring around the outer surface of the jacket.

Abstract: An annular elastomer packing 2 for a male-female bell housing type of pipe joint has a trapezoidal foot 12 radially opposite an anchor ridge or flange 8 which seats in a mating groove 5 in the housing, and a tapering truncated body portion 10 joined to the anchor ridge by a shoulder 6 and to the foot by a groove or recess 19. The radial compression of the foot during the initial insertion of the male pipe end serves to firmly anchor the packing via the ridge 8 and groove 5 with the recess 19 accommodating the compressively deformed material, whereafter the continued insertion of the male end radially compresses and axially extends the body portion to ensure a tight seal. This configuration reduces the insertion force and enables greater dimensional variations to be tolerated.

Abstract: A profile strip 1 is composed of a rectangular cross-sectional body 2 having on each edge a recessed fastening means 3, 4, one male and the other female. Each fastening means 3-4 comprises an axial support flange 10, 13 which lengthens one of the exterior and interior surfaces 5, 6 of the body 2. The two adjacent flanges are abutting, and the two fastening means when engaged define, with the adjacent sides 7 of the body, a U-sectioned space which is filled by a border insert 16 having a complementary cross-section. The invention enables large diameter tubes of plastic material to be formed without any internal or external projections.
