  • Publication number: 20200284601
Abstract: An interactive telematics system that identifies one or more optimum routes for a user by identifying a plurality of potential routes from a departure location to a destination, calculating attributes of each of the potential routes, comparing the attributes of each of the potential routes to user preferences in a user profile associated with the user, identifying one or more optimized routes for the user by selecting one or more of the potential routes based on the comparison of the attributes of each of the potential routes to the user preferences associated with the user, and outputting the one or more optimized routes to a communications network for transmittal to a remote device associated with the user.

  • Patent number: 10584978
Abstract: A system and method for displaying nowcasts along a route on a map. The system receives a map request including a departure location and a destination location from a user, and obtains map data including a route between the destination location and the departure location. A nowcaster is used for outputting nowcasts for a number of key points along the route. The system modifies the map data to include a visual indicator for each nowcast for each key point such that when the modified map data is executed on a display the nowcasts are displayed along the route between the departure location and the destination location.

  • Patent number: 10564319
Abstract: Provided are methods, devices, and non-transitory computer readable storage mediums to generate a weather timeline such as a succession of weather information on a continuous time scale. For example, a timeline may include first weather information associated with a first time in a first territorial location, second weather information associated with a second time, and third weather information associated with a third time. At least one of the first, second and third weather information may comprise a forecasted weather value indicative of a probability of having a specific type of precipitation at a specific intensity. A weather timeline may follow a specific location (e.g. city, town, any region with a definite boundary), a specific weather event (e.g. a specific precipitation type, a specific temperature level, a specific wind intensity), and/or a specific user.

  • Patent number: 10509143
Abstract: Provided are methods, devices, and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums to generate an itinerary with a weather forecast. The itinerary may comprise a departure location, a destination location and a first time. Based on the itinerary, an intermediary location and an intermediary time associated with the intermediary location may be identified. A weather forecast associated with the identified intermediary location and the intermediary time may be predicted. A weather risk associated with the identified route may be assessed and based on the assessed risk, an alternative route may be additionally identified.

  • Patent number: 9447894
Abstract: A valve assembly for a gas turbine engine comprising two flappers movable independently from one another between an open position and a closed position; and a fairing disposed between the two flappers. The fairing has a portion extending downstream of the two flappers. The portion is a downstream portion of a substantially streamlined body. The two flappers are movable relative to the fairing, and when in the open position, the two flappers abut the fairing and form an upstream portion of the substantially streamlined body. A method of flowing air through a valve assembly for a gas turbine engine is also presented.

  • Publication number: 20140303893
Abstract: A system and method for generating nowcasts for a given location over a period. The system receives weather observations and predictions for the given location from a plurality of weather sources, and processes this information to determine a probability distribution of the type of precipitation (PType) and a probability distribution of the rate of precipitation (PRate) over a period. These two probability distributions may then be combined into a plurality of single probability distributions (PTypeRate forecasts) each indicating the probability of occurrence of a certain type of precipitation at a certain rate over a period over the given location.

  • Patent number: 8556573
Abstract: A diffuser for a centrifugal impeller assembly of a gas turbine engine includes a diffuser case having a plurality of vanes extending therein defining a plurality of circumferentially distributed angled passages in communication with an inlet space. Each vane includes a bleed port defined in a suction surface thereof, in proximity of the leading edge. The diffuser case includes a passive fluid communication defined at least partially through each one of the vanes between each bleed port and the inlet space upstream of the leading edge, such that air bled through the bleed ports is recirculated upstream of the leading edges to the inlet space to increase a surge margin of the diffuser.

  • Publication number: 20060032191
Abstract: The automatic utensil wrapping machine is an apparatus for wrapping a napkin around one or more utensils for use as a place setting. The apparatus comprises a housing, a support frame and an assembly of elements mounted to the support frame. The assembly of elements includes a napkin lifting station, a napkin wrapping station, a napkin transfer station, a utensil transfer station, and a napkin folding station. The apparatus wraps each napkin around a predetermined amount of utensils without the need for human contact. The napkins are wrapped by first positioning a stack of napkins on the lifting station, then individually transferring napkins from the lifting station to the wrapping station. The utensils are then transferred from the individual cartridges and placed onto the napkin. Two opposing corners of the napkin are then folded over and the napkin is subsequently wrapped around the utensils.
