  • Publication number: 20200047246
Abstract: A method of casting an aluminum alloy is provided. The method includes casting a master aluminum alloy having a trisilanol phenyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (TSP) modifier into an ingot and adding the master aluminum alloy ingot into a molten base aluminum alloy to form a modified aluminum alloy. The modified aluminum alloy is heated for a period of time and then cast into a cast component. A variation of the method includes mixing a powdered aluminum alloy with a powdered TSP and pressing the mixture of powdered TSP and powdered aluminum alloy into a compacted preform prior to casting the master aluminum alloy. • Publication number: 20070022845
Abstract: The heavy duty pull bar is a hand tool for installing tongue and groove floor boards tightly together. The pull bar includes a flat elongated base plate, having a downward overhang lip on one end which is placed along the edge of the floor board while the other end having a triangle formation affixed to the top surface producing an immensely durable impact area to strike a mallet or hammer to exert the force required to pull the floor boards tightly together. Extending from both sides and from the impact zone end are small 45° bends outward and upward that add to the overall rigidity of the tool. There is also a handle assembly affixed lengthwise to the top centre surface of the base plate to provide better control, stability and handling, and may be used right-handed or left handed.

  • Publication number: 20050187866
Abstract: A web-based method and system that facilitates business transactions, including the raising of capital in global financial markets via the Internet is described. Users of the system design, structure, analyze and execute business transactions over the Internet. Users of the system described include issuers, financial institutions, intermediaries, other professional advisors (law firms, accounting firms, translation agencies, etc.) and end investors. A security means controls access to the system and restricts access to the system to only qualified users. Users of the system design and diagram a transaction structure, assign corresponding attributes to the structure design. The structure design and corresponding attributes are stored in a database. The transaction is posted as a notice or interest onto the system, wherein a user maintains the posting. A database of user and transaction information is compiled and maintained.

  • Patent number: 6716919
Abstract: A method of using nanostructured chemicals as alloying agents for the reinforcement of polymer microstructures, including polymer coils, domains, chains, and segments, at the molecular level. Because of their tailorable compatibility with polymers, nanostructured chemicals can be readily and selectively incorporated into polymers by direct blending processes. The incorporation of a nanostructured chemical into a polymer favorably impacts a multitude of polymer physical properties. Properties most favorably improved are time dependent mechanical and thermal properties such as heat distortion, creep, compression set, shrinkage, modulus, hardness and abrasion resistance. In addition to mechanical properties, other physical properties are favorably improved, including lower thermal conductivity, fire resistance, and improved oxygen permeability.

  • Patent number: 6497057
Abstract: A shoe cushion system integrated in a heel portion of a shoe includes a cavity in the heel of the sole for housing a honeycomb cushion and a strike pad to reduce foot fatigue. A spring is located directly above the strike pad and directs force from the impact of a foot on the heel portion of the shoe. An extendable portion of the spring is positioned within a lasting board aperture, while a flat portion overlaps the lasting board. This spring is made from a gel-like substance, which allows the extendable portion to project through the aperture when force is applied to the heel portion of the shoe. The extendable portion of the spring transfers force onto the strike pad, which in turn presses down on the honeycomb cushion. This honeycomb cushion compresses under the pressure of the strike pad to absorb some of the force.
