The method includes the steps of receiving login information from a user and determining if there is a recent open file request. In response to determining there is a recent open file request, the method includes the step of determining whether the file is synchronized. If the file is synchronized, the method includes the steps of launching an application within which the file can be opened, and opening the file within the application.

Abstract: A method commences upon receiving a first one of a series of commands corresponding to various operations (e.g., in a test or development setting) that are intended to access protected health information (PHI). Initially, the protected health information is stored in a protected source datastore that is logically represented by source metadata. Rather than copy PHI, the method clones the metadata, leaving the PHI uncopied and unmodified. Execution of a read-only operation over the protected health information is performed by referencing the cloned metadata to access the protected health information. In the event of an occurrence of an operation (e.g., a testing operation), a temporary, ephemeral datastore is formed. Responsive to received write operations pertaining to the protected health information, the data pertaining to the intended write operations are pre-staged into the ephemeral datastore. After use, ephemeral data is overwritten, purged from caches, and then the ephemeral datastore is deleted.

An agent running on a remote desktop collaborates with a corresponding client running on a client machine that accepts a “touch and swipe” style input. The agent and client exchange user interface metadata and user interface input events and translate the exchanged information to provide native graphical user interface elements (at the client machine) and simulated user actions (at the remote desktop). The agent running on the remote desktop may use an interface interaction API or library to programmatically manipulate the user interface of the remote desktop responsive and act as a proxy for the corresponding client.
