  • Publication number: 20060013190
Abstract: A method for use in a Generic Packet Radio System backbone network to transport an internet packet destined to a terminal from a gateway support node via a serving support node to a radio network controller. The method comprises for the downstream transportation the steps of: transforming the header into a backbone header; inserting in the backbone header an address of the serving support node and of the radio network controller; forwarding the internet packet after each insertion step to the radio network controller; and keeping track of the address of the terminal during the forwarding by use of an address extension header and by operations on the address extension header during and after forwarding. The upstream transportation is executed in the opposite direction, whereby steps executed during downstream transportation by the gateway support node are now executed during upstream transportation by the radio network controller and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 5836407
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool for drilling oil, gas or geothermic wells. The tool includes two main members, a hollow shaft (1) and a blind tool body (2) more elongate than conventional tool bodies; the two main members are spherically connected to each other by means of a ball joint (4,5). The ball joint is located at the very bottom of the blind portion of the tool body which carries a stabilizer (19) at the other end. The tool is also provided, between the hollow shaft and the tool body, with an appropriate transmission system (6, 7, 8, 9, 11), which is spaced apart from the ball joint and situated between the latter and the stabilizer. The essential advantage of the tool lies in the relative position of the ball joint and the stabilizer, the positioning conferring on the tool a favorable dynamic behavior, without risk of buttressing. Field of application: drilling of oil wells, gas wells and geothermic wells.

  • Patent number: 5569227
Abstract: A sanitary article of the type comprising an external backing sheet which is impervious to liquids, an absorbing pad, an internal cover sheet pervious to liquids and two side flaps with elastic elements. An additional sheet is arranged under the cover sheet overlapping one transverse edge of the pad, and is connected by gluing to the cover sheet which presents, over the additional sheet, a transverse cutting. • Patent number: 5439359
Abstract: A rotary positive displacement machine is formed by a male organ and a female organ that surrounds it. The male and female organs have helicoid surfaces of particular shapes and also have parallel axes. The male and female surfaces of the invention define a work chamber and the machine has n.sub.m +1 permanently existing points of contact between the male and female profiles. Furthermore, the work chambers of the machine are closed such that the male and female surfaces defining the chambers contain a single point defining a tapered closure in a section where the closure point comes into contact with the n.sub.m +1 permanently existing points of contact.

  • Patent number: 5380177
Abstract: A positive displacement machine with planetary motion and hypertrochoidal geometry, including an enclosure arrangement essentially constituted by a cylindrical piston (11), and a cylindrical enclosure (10) and by a third device in rotoidal connection with this piston and this enclosure, characterized in that the directrix of the piston or of the enclosure is hypertrochoidal or uniformly distant from a hypertrochoid. The machine can carry any type of fluid and can convert mechanical energy into hydraulic energy or vice versa, depending on the nature of the distribution selected for assuring the admission and escape of the fluid. This admission may furthermore be adjustable, to assure a variation in the displacement. For well-chosen geometries, the direct contact between the enclosure and the piston may be used to create the relative motion between the piston and the enclosure and to make it unnecessary to use a separate transmission.

  • Patent number: 5343964
Abstract: The invention relates to a petroleum, gas or geothermal drilling apparatus comprising a central tool and a coaxial bit, wherein the central tool is driven by the rotor of a bottom engine which is fed by the drilling mud and wherein the bit is driven from the surface by the rods of a drill gear which is part of a rotary system, these same rods subjecting the apparatus to an axial load.It is characterized in that there is a prismatic connection between the stator (4) of the bottom engine and the base (5) of the bit, which allows the relative axial displacement of the two tools, and that a spring (6) is interposed between the stator (4) and the base (5) in such a way as to form a constraint on the stator when the central tool tends to fall behind in respect to the bit during their respective forward movements, so as to control the relative axial displacement of the two tools and to distribute between them, as a function of the displacement, the axial load to which the apparatus is subjected.
