  • Patent number: 12164653
Abstract: Techniques for authenticating and authorizing user access to a component of a power plant within a private network of a renewable power plant having wind turbine generators. One technique includes providing at a local computer system in the private network a list of credentials and authorizations representing a plurality of identifiers and authenticators of users and corresponding access authorizations. The local computer is in direct communication with components of the power plant and is configured to receive a request for access from a user via a computer interface in the component in the private network. If the requested access can be granted by consulting the list of credentials and authorizations, the grant is communicated from the local computer to the computer interface in the component, and in case access cannot be granted, a request for update of the list of credentials and authorizations is communicated from the local computer system to a central computer system outside the private network.

  • Publication number: 20240192214
Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated society's tremendous health equity gap. Disadvantaged populations have been disproportionally affected by COVID-19, lacking access to affordable testing, a known effective tool for preventing viral spread, hospitalizations, and deaths. Here, we describe COvid-19 Low-cost Optodiagnostic for Rapid testing (COLOR), a colorimetric biosensor fabricated on cotton swabs using gold nanoparticles modified with human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which costs 15 ¢ to produce and detects SARS-COV-2 within 5 minutes. COLOR detected very low viral particle loads (limit of detection: 0.154 pg mL?1 of SARS-COV-2 spike protein) and its color intensity correlated with the cycle threshold (Ct) values obtained using RT-PCR. The performance of COLOR was assessed using 100 nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal (NP/OP) clinical samples, yielding sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy values of 96%, 84%, and 90%, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20230313778
Abstract: The invention provides a method for controlling a wind power plant that receive operating command requests via a distributed system comprising a plurality of subsystems each associated with a respective party capable of issuing requests. One subsystem generates a request to operate the wind power plant in accordance with a defined operating command desired by the associated party. The request is broadcast to each of the other subsystems to approve or disapprove the requests. Each subsystem broadcasts to the other subsystems if it approves the request, and each subsystem maintains a database including a record of which subsystems have approved the request. The wind power plant is controlled based on which subsystems have approved the request, where at least one subsystem other than the subsystem that generates the request needs to have approved the request before the plant implements the defined operating command.

  • Patent number: 11493516
Abstract: The present invention relates to a metabolic biomarker set for use in assessing breast cancer in a mammalian subject. In particular, the invention relates to a metabolic biomarker set for screening and/or diagnosing breast cancer, the metabolic biomarker set including at least (a) one amino acid selected from glutamine, glutamate and serine, and one lipid, or (b) glutamine and glutamate. Further, the invention relates to a metabolic biomarker set for prediction of therapeutic response to breast cancer neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Moreover, the present invention relates to a method for assessing breast cancer, which includes obtaining a biological sample, preferably blood, from a mammalian subject and measuring in the biological sample the amount and/or ratios of metabolites. By employing the specific biomarkers and the method according to the present invention it becomes possible to more properly and reliably assess breast cancer.

  • Patent number: 10962542
Abstract: A metabolic biomarker set for use in assessing, screening, and/or diagnosing breast cancer in a mammalian subject includes at least (a) one amino acid selected from glutamine, glutamate and serine, and one lipid, or (b) glutamine and glutamate. Described further, is a metabolic biomarker set for prediction of therapeutic response to breast cancer neoadjuvant chemotherapy; a metabolic biomarker set for assessing biochemical reflection of breast cancer tumor activity; and a metabolic biomarker set for subclassification between intrinsic breast cancer tumor subtypes. Moreover, a method for assessing breast cancer is described, which includes obtaining a biological sample, preferably blood, from a mammalian subject and measuring in the biological sample the amount and/or ratios of metabolites. By employing the specific biomarkers and the method it becomes possible to more properly and reliably assess breast cancer.
