    Abstract: Acrylonitrile-unsaturated sulphonate copolymers are prepared with an increased sulphonate content relative to the sulphonate content in the monomer mixture, in an aqueous heterogeneous phase, by using an aqueous medium of an inorganic halide or nitrate of ammonia or of a metal of group IA or IIA of the Periodic Table.
