Abstract: Disclosed are compounds displaying improved preferential serotonin-1A binding activity. The claimed compounds have the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, and hydrogen;R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;X is CH or a nitrogen atom;ALK is a saturated, branched or unbranched, aliphatic hydrocarbon having from 1 to 7 carbon atoms; andZ is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, or lower alkyl;or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

Abstract: Pharmaceutical composition which is useful as a medicinal product, in particular for the treatment of disorders of the central nervous system, characterized in that it contains customary pharmaceutical excipients, and at least one of the compounds of formula ##STR1## in which the trifluoromethyl substituent is at the 4-position, at the 5-position, or at 4- and 5-positions of the pyridinyl ring, and the substituent R denotes either hydrogen or a halogen, such as chlorine, at position(s) of the pyridinyl ring not occupied by CF.sub.3, and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel 6-aryloxy-2-oxo-1-aza-4-(or thia)-spiro[4,5]decane compounds. These compounds are represented by the formula: ##STR1## in which A stands for an oxygen or sulfur heteroatom; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each H, lower alkyl or aryl such as phenyl; X is H, a halogen atom such as chlorine or fluorine or a lower alkyl.Compounds according to the invention are useful as stimulating agents for vigilance, as psycho-stimulators and genesic stimulators.

Abstract: 2-(2-Hydroxyethyl)tetrahydro-1,4-oxazines and quaternary salts thereof having the formula: ##STR1## WHEREIN Ar and Ar.sub.1 are the same or different and are unsubstituted and substituted aryl, said substituent being a halogen atom, R represents a lower alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is zero when X.sup.(-) is zero or is an alkyl group of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms which is the same or different from R, as defined above, and X.sup.(-) is zero when R.sub.1 is zero or is selected from the group consisting of Cl.sup.(-), Br.sup.(-), I.sup.(-) and CH.sub.3 SO.sub.4.sup.(-) when R.sub.1 is lower alkyl, as defined above, is described. These compounds are useful for treating spasmodic syndromes.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a lower alkyl group, X is oxygen or the group --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- where n is 0 or 1, having bronchospasmolytic activity, are described.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable acid salts thereof, wherein X is hydrogen, halogen or methoxy, n is zero, Y is halogen and the ethyl piperazaine moiety is attached to the 2- or 4- position of the piperidine ring, is described. These compounds have anti-spasmolytic and antitussive activity.

Abstract: This invention relates to a new group of substituted cysteines having the general formula: ##STR1## in which: Ar is an aromatic or heteromonocyclic group, such as 2-thienyl or phenyl, which may be substituted by a halogen atom or by a lower alkyl or alkoxy group, and R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group.These compounds are of use in human therapeutics as liquifiers for bronchal secretions in complaints of the respiratory passage and, in particular, in chronic bronchitis.The invention also relates to a method of preparing these compounds and to the application of these compounds, particularly in human therapeutics.

The piperazines have hypotensive, anti-emetic and antitussive effects.
