  • Publication number: 20140220370
Abstract: In the tube manufacturing industry, five general methodologies for manufacturing tubes are known at this time. The first is under an extrusion of molten metal by means of a press. The second is by means of a rotary lamination system known as “Piercing” or “Mannesmann”. The third is the welded pre-tube that is obtained from a laminated strip. The fourth, known as the “Cast & Roll” system, whereby a pre-tube, obtained directly from the melting, is laminated by a triple roller system. Finally, the innovative manner whereby a continuous vertical casting manufactures pre-tubes continuously, directly from the melt. The four first systems are widely used in the industry to manufacture what is known as a “pre-tube” that usually has a diameter of 60 mm or higher, which we shall name “old pre-tube”. Different processes are applied to that old pre-tube to bring it to smaller diameters and thicknesses finally required by the market.

  • Patent number: 5113559
Abstract: The invention relates to the fixing of staves (10) provided with points (12) to the cylinder (1) of a textile machine drum. Inside the cylinder (1) bars (6) provided with threaded holes (8) are slid. The half-openings (14) of the bases (11) of the staves (10) are facing each other by pairs. The pieces (18) provide for the blocking. Application: time reduction of labor for the mounting and replacement of the staves, possibility of fitting long cylinders with small diameters without the need for the operator to pass his hand inside the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5031844
Abstract: The invention comprises a tearing machine of large width. The feeding station is automatic. A centrifugal separator recycles the scraps recovered by the longitudinal pneumatic transport. It recycles them with the new scraps, in the stack with vibrating walls which extends itself over the entire width of the machine. The compartmentalized suction loading devices assure homogeneity of the fibrous cloth. A fibrous cloth of very high quality is produced on an evacuation conveyor belt. This cloth is homogenous over the entire width of the machine, which may extend to several meters.

  • Patent number: 4526295
Abstract: The injection cartridge comprises two containers (1, 2) one of which is slidably mounted in the other. An actuating rod (8) has a smooth leading portion (9) and a rear threaded portion (10) separated by a threaded intermediate portion (11). The container (1) has in its end (12) a threaded opening (13) receiving the threaded intermediate portion (11). The nozzle (5) of the container (2) has a thread (15) for receiving the thread (14). The threaded portion (10) of the rod (8) has a nut for abutting against the first container to push it towards the other container. The cartridge may be used for injecting a semi-pasty product into a protective sleeve for a joint in a telephone cable.

  • Patent number: 4492816
Abstract: A sleeve for protecting cable splices against environmental moisture and aggressive fluids comprises two half-shells having flanges which are placed against each other in the assembled position. In this position, the adjacent flanges define a duct into which sealing material in the form of paste is introduced. The opposite ends of the sleeve are provided with jaws which are clamped against the cable at the time of assembly of the two half-shells. Two jaws define between them a chamber which communicates with the sealing duct by means of a channel formed around the entire periphery of a jaw which is adjacent to the chamber, the channel being located at the bottom of the recess in which the jaw is fitted.

  • Patent number: 4387268
Abstract: The sleeve for protecting the splice (4) in telephone cables (2) and (3) is made up of two half-shells (1a, 1b) joined together by their adjacent edges, around splice (4). These adjacent edges are provided with a groove which, in the position where the shells are joined together, defines a duct, devices being provided for injecting into this duct a pasty material creating watertightness between these adjacent edges. The opposite ends (9, 20) of the sleeve are provided with jaws (11, 12, 13) for securing axially the ends of the cables (2, 3) to the sleeve and with devices for creating watertightness between these cables and these ends (9,10) of the sleeve. Each of the ends (9,10) of the sleeve bears at least two detachable jaws (11, 12) defining between them a chamber (18) connected with the above-mentioned duct.

  • Patent number: 4278207
Abstract: A breaking machine having a disintegrator module, storage shaft, and a regulating shaft. Fibers are fed into a disintegrator module of the breaking machine and are thereafter led into a storage shaft. At this point, the fibers are alternatively exited from the machine or fowarded to a regulating shaft for recycling to the disintegrator module. The cycle may be reproduced several times and is automatically controlled by a control panel where preselected digital values are set to control the operation and cycling of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4208769
Abstract: The breaking machine comprises a spiked drum mounted for rotation about a horizontal axis. A device feeds fibers to the drum. The feed device includes a horizontal roller of smaller diameter than that of the drum and is positioned laterally tangential to the drum. A device recycles insufficiently opened waste. A system forms the fibers into layers. A mechanism sharpens the spikes of the drum.
