  • Patent number: 8787353
Abstract: A method and system for directed call establishment to anchor selected cellular calls in a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or an IP Multi-Media Subsystem (IMS) network employs a mobile handset application client to interrupt selected cellular call initiations and request a directed call establishment number from a converged services node. A call placed to the directed call establishment number creates a call signaling path through the converged services node in the VoIP or IMS network, which can then exercise control over the call to provide enhanced call services. The converged services node completes a call connection to the original called number in a manner transparent to the user of the mobile handset.

  • Publication number: 20090164575
Abstract: A system and a method for dynamic establishment of telepresence conferences using standard protocol, such as SIP, for communications are provided. The method provides for negotiation of profiles of each location participating at the telepresence conference. The profiles provide information on the connectivity, positioning and configuration of the audiovisual elements, number of participating sites and number of participants at each location. These profiles are derived from the set of sites participating into the telepresence conference and their capabilities which are acquired through a dynamic scheme during the telepresence conference initiation.

  • Patent number: 7328271
Abstract: A method of controlling telephone connections for internet protocol communications provides a structure for encapsulating a message to be exchanged between an IP phone and an entity within an Ethernet-based PBX, comprising utilizing a Protocol Header and an IP Message body, wherein the Protocol Header includes an indication of Protocol Type for denoting whether the message is an IP message or an encapsulated non-IP message, Device Number for denoting, by means of a MAC (Media Access Control), an address for the entity within the PBX to which the message is to be transmitted or from which the message is to be received, and Message Type for identifying the type of message contained in the IP Message Body.

  • Patent number: 7289805
Abstract: A system provides a service to mobile devices that permits the mobile devices to substantially avoid roaming charges while roaming in visited networks. A temporary subscriber identity (TSI) server receives a TSI request message from a TSI client operating on a roaming mobile device. If available, a temporary service identity is returned to the TSI client, which registers the mobile communications device with a specified service provider as a home subscriber using the temporary service identity.

  • Patent number: 6898278
Abstract: A signalling switch for use in information protocol telephony is provided, which can initiate, sustain, and terminate a plurality of discrete voice and data calls simultaneously. A plurality of cards are mounted on a computer bus, where the first card is a single board computer whose function is to act as the operations and maintenance control card for the switch. A non-system card functions as a message transport controller card; and there is at least one further non-system card which functions as a master application controller card. Local bus communication among the non-system cards is provided by a local bus found on the message transport controller card. Telephone routing information protocol software is resident in the switch, and the switch communicates externally via Ethernet interfaces.

  • Patent number: 6603759
Abstract: A system is provided for carrying synchronous voice payloads of variable size across a packet-based network while eliminating network jitter losses. According to the preferred embodiment, two concurrent tasks are implemented. A Voice Packet Processing task receives packetized voice from a packet oriented interface, processes headers of the packet, and builds a receive payload buffer that is managed by means of copying packets to the synchronous interface according to the contents of the payload buffer. The Voice Packet Forwarding task builds a transmit payload buffer for voice samples received from the synchronous interface, builds the necessary protocol headers and forwards the packet to the packet oriented interface.
