Abstract: The present invention consists of a process for growing polymer and protein films onto electrode surfaces from aqueous solutions. In this process, following an initial transient period, the growth is linear in time for an applied anodic potential exceeding a threshold value. (Henceforth we refere to this phenomenon as “continuous growth under an electric potential”, or CGE). This invention is also related to the films obtained using this method.
