Abstract: The invention relates to a device for filtration, drying and storage of solids from a suspension (FDS unit) and a method carried out in this system for the downstream processing of a solids suspension, in particular of crystallizable therapeutic proteins or active ingredients. The FDS unit, designed for use as a disposable system, is a device with which active ingredient crystals can be gently and safely filtered, dried, stored and reconstituted in a closed process procedure, i.e. without intermediate opening or transfer.

Abstract: The invention relates to agents containing esterases, and to the use thereof for dressing fibres, in particular, artificial fibres, washing and cleaning agents comprising esterases and corresponding washing and cleaning methods, in addition to additional technical areas of application. The invention also relates to the use of esterases for protecting against or reducing and/or preventing pilling, preferably in textiles, particularly plastic fibres, more preferably polyester fibres, in addition to the use of esterases for separating the plastics, in particular, polyester compounds. The invention further relates to novel esterases and to sufficiently related proteins and to derivatives thereof, agents containing them and to the use thereof.

Abstract: A gas-introduction system useful, for example, in biotechnology for supplying cells or microorganisms with oxygen. The gas-introduction system has a bubble column and a distributor. In the vessel there is situated a liquid medium which is to be supplied with gas. A vector is used as transport medium for the gas. The gas is introduced into the bubble column and here taken up by the vector. The vector is applied to the liquid surface via the distributor in droplet form, falls downward in the medium and releases to the medium some of the gas that has been taken up. At the bottom of the vessel is situated a collecting device in which the vector droplets coalesce and pass back into the bubble column. Disclosed are a bioreactor comprising the gas-introduction system and a method for introducing gas into a liquid medium, preferably an aqueous suspension containing cells or microorganisms.

Abstract: An apparatus for aligning sheet stacks in a feeder of sheet processing machines includes a motor-driven aligning plate and a movement converter situated between a motor drive and the aligning plate. The movement converter forces a movement describing approximately a circular path onto the aligning plate. A vertical speed component of the aligning plate during aligning corresponds to an upward speed of a feeder stack. A method for aligning sheet stacks in a feeder of a sheet processing machine as well as a sheet processing machine, are also provided.
