  • Patent number: 10358732
Abstract: The disclosed method proposes, for the mixing of a solid and dry granular mixture and a liquid bituminous binder, the solid and dry granular mixture being a mixture of two fractions of constituents, one of which is a coarse fraction including aggregates, the other fraction a fraction of submillimeter fines, that the mixing includes at least two consecutive mixing steps: an aggregate-preimpregnation step, consisting of mixing the coarse fraction of the granular mixture with a part of the bituminous binder, in a quantity at least sufficient for coating the aggregates and at least partially filling the open pore spaces of the aggregates; and a covering mixing step, which consists of mixing the preimpregnated coarse fraction of bituminous binder and originating from the first mixing step, with the balance of the bituminous binder, required for the manufacture of the electrodes, and with the fraction of fines of the granular mixture.

  • Patent number: 6481651
Abstract: A process for the grain size reduction of a raw material in piece form, wherein: all or part of the material in piece form is subjected to a grinding operation, capable of enabling to be obtained at its output a material in grain form having a requisite grain size distribution, starting out from any given grain size of the material in piece form; downstream, the material in grain form obtained is directed exclusively towards a common container, whatever the size of the grains, so as to obtain, in a single run, in the said container, a mixture of material in grain form having the grain size distribution, for use as such.

  • Patent number: 6042032
Abstract: A continuously operating process and a plant for comminuting by grinding a mineral material into grains of different sizes and dividing the ground product into several fractions each constituted by grains the dimensions of which are between a predetermined upper limit and a predetermined lower limit. Starting from a raw product, it is subjected to grinding by material layer crushing, the ground products are divided into several fractions comprising at least one coarse fraction and one fine fraction, and those grains the dimensions of which are greater than the upper limit of the coarse fraction, and possibly all or part of the fractions the grains of which have dimensions between the lower limit of the coarse fraction and the upper limit of the fine fraction, are returned to the grinder input.

  • Patent number: 4817008
Abstract: To enable the operation of a cement manufacturing installation to be controlled by taking into account changes in essential operating parameters as soon as they appear, the quantity of the total theoretical heat (QT) required to convert the raw material to clinker is calculated by applying correcting coefficients to the quantity of a predetermined total nominal heat (QTO) corresponding to nominal values imposed by parameters (K1, K2, . . . Kn) characteristic of the raw material, of the fuel, of the clinker and of the operation of the installation, the correcting coefficients taking into account differences between the nominal values and measured values of said parameters. The quantity of the theoretical heat (QF) to be supplied to the kiln is calculated by deducting the quantity of heat (QP) supplied to the precalcination chamber from the quantity of total theoretical heat (QT).
