  • Patent number: 4309220
Abstract: Adhesive composition which can be transformed into a metallo-ceramic cement by heat treatment. The binder for the composition is incorporated in the binder which sodium disilicate and the powdered metallic filler is composed of a mixture of aluminium-coated stainless steel powder and ultrafine chromium powder.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 16, 1980
Date of Patent: January 5, 1982
Assignee: Office National d'Etudes et de Recherche Aerospatiales
Inventors: Andre R. Hivert, Philippe M. Galmiche
  • Patent number: 4096296
Abstract: A metal article having perforations therein whose transverse cross-sectional dimension is less than 0.4 mm has formed thereon a surface diffusion alloy by applying a refractory filter element to the workpiece surface prior to the diffusion treatment, the filter element being a refractory felt based on metal fibres including chromium in a proportion by weight of from 10 to 60%. The felt is oxidized to give a layer of chromium oxide. This is followed by conventional thermochemical powder diffusion treatment in the presence of at least one chromium oxide-reducing element selected from aluminium, yttrium, titanium and the lanthanides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 5, 1976
Date of Patent: June 20, 1978
Assignee: Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aerospatiales
Inventors: Philippe M. Galmiche, Andre R. Hivert, Andre M. Walder
  • Patent number: 3984051
Abstract: A tank for liquid drainable towards an outlet is disclosed which may be u in appliances where the action of gravity is neutralized such as in artificial satellites. The tank comprises a casing and inside said casing a porous retention material in contact with the inner surface of the casing and designed as a structure with compartments, the sections of the compartments decreasing in size in the direction towards the tank outlet and the dimensions of the pores decreasing in the said direction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 18, 1975
Date of Patent: October 5, 1976
Assignee: Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aerospatiales (O.N.E.R.A.)
Inventors: Jean G. Labbe, Andre R. Hivert
  • Patent number: 3949122
Abstract: To produce resisting metal coatings containing at least one brazing metal surfaces formed of titanium or another refractory metal having at least one volatile halide, a coating of this halide of the brazing metal is applied to this surface, this halide being stable in the isolated state and when applied to the surface, the halogen of the said halide being able to form the volatile halide with the refractory metal; the surface thus coated is heated to a temperature which is sufficient to permit the reaction of the metal halide with the refractory metal to form the volatile halide, which escapes and to form the metal coating, bounded by diffusion of the brazing metal to the surface of the refractory metal.
